"I thought wewere waiting." She walked into his outstretched arms, closingher eyes as his hands tightened around her waist.

"I decided itwas time."

"Here I wasthinking it was supposed to be a joint decision." Lifting herhead, she gazed at him, love bathing him with intense warmth. Sheloved him and he wanted to shout it to the entire world.

"Did I jump thegun?" He asked her teasingly.

"You did."Her hands framed his face. "Now I’m going to be the objectof everyone's attention."

"Especially withthis." Reaching behind him, he picked up a small black velvetbox.

Her eyes flew to itin shock. "That can’t be-"

"I’ve beenextremely busy." Flicking the switch, he opened it to reveal oneof the most exquisite diamonds she’d ever seen. He took herleft hand and slid the ring onto her finger. It was a perfect fit.

“I’mmaking it official." Tilting her chin up, he studied the look onher beautiful face. "Allison Marie Simpson, will you do me thehonor of becoming my wife?"

She had to swallowseveral times to get rid of the lump inside her throat. "What doyou think?"

He laughed softly.“I’m going to need to hear you say it."

"Yes." Shewhispered huskily. "Yes, yes, yes. A thousand times, yes."She shifted so that she was wrapped around him, eyes swimming withtears. "You’re going to make me all teary-eyed andblubbery."

He kissed hertenderly, hands wrapped around her as he poured all the love he wasfeeling into the kiss.

Ending the kiss, hestared into her eyes. “I had something else planned. We’regoing to go home and I’ll take off all your clothes and tellyou that you’ve restored my life. I’ve never met anyonelike you before. You’re the light to my darkness and I can’tbelieve you’re here and that I’m love with you.”

“Nash.”Her throat was thick with tears and she could hardly bear it. “Youcan’t-“

“You’remy miracle. You mean everything to me.”

“Nash-“She leaned into him; her face buried into his chest as the tearscoursed down her cheeks.

Ignoring his phoneringing and the discreet knock on the door, he held her against him,his own body shuddering.

“Come.”

Laura drew back alittle when she witnessed the tender scene.

“Yes?”

“I’msorry sir, I thought you said-“

“Put them inConference room B. I’ll be right there. I’ll be leavingright after the meeting.” A smile touched his lips. “Allisonand I will be celebrating our engagement.”

“Congratulations, sir. Ms. Simpson.” She beamed before withdrawing.

“Better?”He asked tenderly, lifting her chin and wiping the tears.

“We’releaving early?”

“We have thingsto do, one of them is to go and tell your mother and my old man thenews.”

“You love me.”She whispered achingly.

“More than myown life.” He told her humbly. “I can’t get out ofthis meeting, but afterward, we go and do the rounds and then go backhome.”
