"Now, people,let's get down to business."

She was in the middleof briefing her team when they heard a knock on the door before itwas pushed open and he walked in. For the second time in a day, shewas flummoxed.
“Sir!”Maddie flew to her feet along with the rest of the team as theystared at him in shock.
“I hope I’mnot interrupting." His eyes went to Allison who’d beensitting on the edge of her desk.
"We- no-"
"Please, don’tleave on my account." He waved a hand as they made to file outand walked purposefully toward Allison.
"What are youdoing?" She whispered as he drew her up and into his arms. Shescarcely heard the gasps or notice the bulging eyes.
"This."Framing her face with his hands, he brought his lips down to hers,the kiss tender and left the occupants in the room in no doubt as tothe status of their relationship. "That should do it." Helooked at her tenderly as he said, "Talk later." Releasingher, he nodded to the others in the room before walking out.
"Oh my God!"Maddie was staring at her with huge eyes and the rest were in shock."You and Mr. Hamilton- Mr. Hamilton and you-"
"Use words,Maddie." Allison felt as if she was unable to bear her ownweight. The man was nothing if not unpredictable.
He’d started tosubtly, or not so subtly, reveal the change in their status in theboardroom without warning her and had completed it by kissing her infront of her staff. By the end of the day, the entire company wasgoing to know they were an item.
He’d flusteredher enough to make sure she couldn’t concentrate on work.Ignoring the questions thrown at her, she ended the meeting andclosed the door when they left. Going back to her desk, she sank downon the chair slowly, her legs trembling.
She knew what he’ddone, and couldn’t believe it. Reaching for the phone, shecalled his private number.
"I was wonderinghow long it would take you." The amusement deepened.
"Are you in ameeting?"
"Not at themoment."
"You could havewarned me."
"I wanted tosurprise you."
"Does thismean-"
"We’reofficially a couple. You should have seen your face." Hechuckled softly. "I should have taken a picture."
"I’m sohappy you’re enjoying yourself at my expense." She feltwarm all over. "You should see the way my staff were looking atme. They’ve been calling me Allison, now all of a sudden, I’m'Ms. Simpson.'"
"Very soon,you’re going to be Mrs. Hamilton."
Her breath stopped atthat. "Nash. Oh God. What are you doing to me?"
"I have ameeting in ten minutes. Come to my office and let me do it properly."
"Do whatproperly?" She asked breathlessly.
"Propose to you,darling.”
Her hands trembledand she could feel the tears blurring her vision. “I’llbe right there."
The dragon assistantwas standing at the doors waiting for her and was actually smiling."He said to send you right in."
"Thank you."Allison told her numbly as she pushed the doors open and stepped intothe office. He was perched with one hip on the desk, a relaxed lookon his face.
