“I don’t know,” he whispers as he swirls his glass in a circle, watching the clanking ice cube move. “I’m just wishing we could cut through all the bullshit.”

“What bullshit?” I ask, wondering if I said something wrong.

He sighs and then looks at me with those soft blue puppy dog eyes. They make my heart squeeze into a tight little ball.

“We’re going to end up together, Kylee,” he says in a firm tone.

I laugh despite myself. “Oh yeah?”

“Yeah.”

He’s not laughing. He looks dead serious.

“Now, we can spend the next year going back and forth,” he says as he pierces my soul with those deadly eyes. “Driving. Longing. Craving. We can go long weeks without seeing each other. We can torture ourselves with lonely nights in cold beds. We can pretend like there’s someone else out there who might be better suited to us. We can pretend like we weren’t destined to be together. We can act like our fate isn’t written in the stars.”

I lean in closer as I listen to him with my heart pounding.

“We can go through all that bullshit,” he continues. “And we can lose the perfect studio for you to teach gymnastics in. We can lose a priceless year together. Or…”

I lean in even closer until my chair almost tips over.

“…Or, we can cut the bullshit and admit to ourselves what’s already so crystal fucking clear. That we?—”

“Belong together,” we both say at the same time.

We stare at each other for a long time and it’s suddenly becoming very clear. I’m seeing what he’s seeing. At least, I want to.

I want our destiny to be written in the stars like he’s so convinced it is.

But I’m not normally the adventurous type. I think long and hard before I jump and this is all new territory for me. This is truly jumping into the unknown.

“Let’s not pretend this isn’t what it is,” he says with a look that turns me to jelly. “Every second with you is precious, Kylee. I don’t want to waste any of it.”

He stands up and steps in front of me. My whole body tingles as I stare up at him, not knowing what to say. I want to give in, but my anxious brain is a stubborn beast. It’s always won out over my cautious heart.

“Don’t say no just yet,” he says as he drops to his knees in front of me. “Don’t say anything. At least, not tonight. Let me have at least one incredible night where you’re all mine.”

My voice is gone. It’s non-existent. All I can do is nod as I’m captured by those dreamy blue eyes shining in the moonlight.

He leans forward and kisses me. It’s soft and gentle until I moan, and then I feel the hunger in him awakening. His strong hands slide up my thighs, his grip tightening as they arrive at my hips.

Ravenous heat is ripping through me. I want to devour this sexy man. I want him to consume me.

I thrust my tongue into his mouth and moan at the taste. My hips are rolling on the seat, my pussy on fire.

“You’re so sexy,” he growls as he pulls away and starts kissing my neck. “Do you think I’m sexy?”

“Yes,” I moan, practically panting as my head drops back. “You’re so fucking hot. I can’t even…”

He’s got this smug sexy grin on his face as he pulls away and grabs his shirt.

“Yes,” I whisper as he pulls it off and tosses it behind me. My eyes rip across his naked torso, taking in every delectable inch as my pussy throbs. It’s all strong taut muscle and tattooed skin. His shoulders are so big and broad. His arms are fucking perfect. That chest… my god, that chest…

He’s making me dizzy. I can’t think straight.

My mouth waters when I see his six-pack clenching and straining tight with every movement he makes.

“Do you want to touch it?” he asks in a deep throaty voice.
