A wicked grin plays on his lips. “I might have a few suggestions.”

“I’m sure you do,” I say, and before I can change my mind, I pull him down to me and kiss him.

GABRIEL

The kiss takes me by surprise, but I’m not about to complain. It’s mind-boggling.

The moment she presses her lips to mine, I pin her against my chest and crush her to me so she can feel every breath we’re sharing. Her lips are sparkling magic, and if I had to lose a million other push-up contests to kiss them, I’d do it all over again. Just for these lips. Heck, I’d go make a fool of myself in front of the president for another taste of her mouth.

I slide a hand up Blake’s back and cup her neck, drawing her closer, but taking my time teasing her mouth with delicate nips. I’ve waited so long for this, I’m going to make it last. I taunt and tease until neither of us can take anymore, and then I deepen the kiss until she melts in my arms and I can no longer tell where I end and she begins.

She wraps her arms around my neck and clings to me like a kite in the teeth of a raging storm.

Despite all her training, her body is soft, plush, and warm under my grip and my fingers slip into her fine strands as our mouths move intensely over each other. A soft moan escapes her lips and I can feel her heartbeat thundering against my chest.

I’ve had my share of beautiful women, but Blake is something else. She’s smarter and sexier than all the others put together. And she’s real.

I break the kiss and capture her earlobe in my mouth. Blake rewards me with little mewing sounds. I inch my hands lower and lower, caressing the sides of her body, making slow circles over her hips until I become acquainted with all her delicious curves. Then I go back to kissing her mouth. Gosh, I could spend my entire life kissing her.

Blake surprises me again by putting pressure on my chest until I yield and fall down on the blanket. Then she’s on top of me.

Her ocean-blue eyes are the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, and I want to drink them in and swim in them forever.

A small smile curls her lips before she bends over to kiss me again.

I catch her by the back of her head and hold her in place, her lips hovering over mine, as our gazes lock. Her face is inches away and I take a moment to inhale the sweetness of her breath before I let her have her way with me.

Blake’s lips feel like they’re on fire, and I’m burning in the flames.

She intensifies the kiss and I grab her hips and pull her closer, the feel of her curves under my hands driving the kiss even wilder.

She’s taking over the lead and I’m not fighting it. I drop my hands from her hips and slide my fingers under the hem of her tank top, caressing her waist and sides. The smooth skin is my undoing.

I want her more than anything.

Blake pulls back from my embrace as if she’s read my mind. She sits back on her heels, and with a smile playing on her lips, she looks down at me with those eyes.

I sit up to kiss her again, as desperate as a man in the desert to drink his first sip of water. But she pushes a finger to my lips.

My eyes must plead for mercy because she answers the question I cannot speak.

“I can’t keep kissing you for much longer without going… further.” The way she blushes as she says this is pure torture. “And I’m not sure I’m ready yet.”

She frees my mouth and trails her fingers down my jaw to my collar bone, tracing the lines of my chest with the tip of her nails.

I follow their progress, rasping, “That’s not helping cool me down.”

“Okay,” Blake says, rolling off me. “Picture a large, hairy, wet spider crawling up your leg.”

“Why?”

“It’ll help you cool off.”

I smile, propping myself on my elbow so I can see her. “Indeed.” I know that, technically, she kissed me, but I want to make sure she’s okay. “Are you—I mean, are we okay?”

“Cool as cucumbers. Just taking a breather before clothes fly off.”
