Tears welled up in Sharon's eyes as she wiped them away. "I already love our family."

My heart melted, and I started crying. Then, Cole appeared. He lifted me up and held me in his arms, settling me on his lap.

“It’s been such an emotional day, and I missed you so much,” This is my sister Sharon. Izzy is a match for Katy. Did you hear about her illness.”

“Yes, I heard,” Cole replied. “I’m glad Izzy is a match. So your Dad and siblings found out about you and Izzy?”

“Yes, I think they are still in shock because there are so many family members. I missed you. I know I already said that, but that’s how much I missed you,”

“I missed you too, sweetheart. I’m happy Izzy is a match for your little sister. Oh, our baby just kicked me. How are you feeling?” I asked, holding her even closer. Putting my hand on her tummy.

“I feel good. So many things have happened since you left. Do you get to stay home for a while?”

“I'll be staying home for a long time. I won't leave you to handle everything on your own anymore, at least not for the next six months. How does that sound?”

“How about a year?” Bailey said, with a chuckle.

I was finishing up the baby’s room, and Bailey was out in the garden pulling weeds. I couldn’t help but watch as she knelt down, despite her growing belly making it a bit of a struggle. I had offered to take over the gardening work, but she had insisted that it was good for her to keep active.

“Bailey, you need to take a break,” I called out.

She stood up and dusted her hands off, a tired smile on her face. “I'm done for the day,” she replied.

I watched her stand, and then I heard a vehicle. I turned at the same time I heard Bailey gasp. I rushed to Bailey as Izzy got out of her car. Both of us reached Bailey at the same time.

“What happened?” I asked.

Izzy’s eyes landed on her pants, and her face changed. “Your water broke.”

“Is that what happened? I need to shower before we go to the hospital. I can't have my baby smelling like I've been in the garden all day,” Bailey remarked.

“Bailey, your water just broke. You don’t have time for a shower. We barely have time to make it to the hospital,” Izzy replied.

I swiftly picked her up and carried her to our truck. “We’re going to the hospital,” I said when she clutched her stomach and cried out in pain. “Damn, will we have time to make it to the hospital?” I asked, looking at Izzy.

“Yes, we are going to the hospital,” Bailey replied, as another contraction came.

“How long have you been having contractions?” I asked, trying to stay calm.

“I didn’t even realize they were contractions. I thought the baby didn’t like me being in the dirt. In my crazy thoughts, I pictured our little girl trying not to get dirt on her.”

“Oh my God. Take her to your room, and then call for an ambulance. They might not arrive in time, but at least they’ll show up to drive her to the hospital so mommy and baby can get checked out. Bailey Reed, I told you what contractions felt like. I can’t believe you. Now you are having your baby here at home, with no epidural for the pain,” Izzy said, looking as calm as could be.

“Oh Lord, Viper, you will be the hero and deliver our baby,” I looked at her and realized how frightened she was.

“I can do that, plus I’ll have Izzy, who’s a pro at having babies.”

“That’s right, I am a pro. So we’ll get this started,” she ran inside and stripped our bed. I helped Bailey get undressed.

Can I please take a one-minute shower?”

Viper, you can dunk her under the shower quickly; the bed will be ready by then,” Izzy suggested nervously.

Things escalated rapidly from there. We hadn’t gotten to the shower before Bailey cried out. “I can feel the baby’s head pushing. Hurry, put me on the bed.”
