He leads me away into another room. An office of some kind. I’ve never been in here. I realize this is that room he always has locked up. He rarely lets anyone in.

“It’s on my laptop over here.” Callum says as he strides over to his large mahogany desk. I follow suit, keeping a safe distance. Easier said than done. Even from a few feet behind, I can smell the sweet musky scent of his cologne and skin.

I bet I look like a cartoon character floating toward a pie the way I’m drawn to his masculine smell. Maybe I miss him too.

No. No.

I’m protecting my heart. He’s done nothing to keep his so-called promise from a few days ago. Nothing has changed. Until the fateful day it does, he’s just my human dildo. One that I might care about… Just a little.

“Here.”

The track plays and I nod my head to the sensual beat. It’s amazing.

“I was thinking of adding some ocarina.” Callum says casually, like any of that sounds normal.

“Some huh?”

“Ocarina. It’s a wind instrument.” he says in a ‘duh’ tone.

“You’re insane. Does the song actually need whatever the fuck that is or are you just trying to show off?”

Callum is a prodigy. A savant. Whatever you call it, however you mix it, the man is a musical genius. It’s soo unfair. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

No way someone can be so perfect. Luckily, I happen to know he’s not flawless. So, at least there’s that.

“I’ll show you.” he says, turning toward a bookshelf. My brow lifts in confusion as I watch him pick a book, but my expression quickly flips to one of surprise, because the book tilts, and there’s a click. The shelf opens up, and I step closer, inhaling Callum’s fuck-worthy scent and seeing a room filled ceiling to floor with instruments.

My jaw drops as I enter, spinning around the large space, “Holy shit.”

“This is my music room,” Callum says, stopping my movement. I look at him. “I’ve never let anyone in here.” He looks almost… sheepish, as he says this. Eyes flicker toward the floor, avoiding mine, cheeks lightly dusted in pink.

The implications of what he said hit me when I’m finished observing him.

“N-never?” That can’t be true. One: This room is sick, there are instruments in here I’ve never seen before. I know for a fact he can play every single one of them. And two: If that’s true, why am I in here? Is this some kind of game?

He shakes his head, “I’m very precious about my instruments. I’ve never trusted anyone enough to be in here. You’ve already been so respectful, looking but not touching a thing.”

His eyes twinkle with double meaning. Like, he’s reminding me how good of a boy he’s been. I roll my eyes, beginning to turn around again. This is amazing.

There are wind instruments hung in a large display case that spans the back wall. A corner filled with percussion from a simple drumset, to things I’ve never seen before.

The space is immaculate.

And he trusts me. Uh oh.

“This is the ocarina.” Callum says, startling me, breaking the trance. I walk closer and he shows me a little, sorta round recorder type thing. It’s kinda cute.

He plays a little bit of the song we were just listening to, and I’m frustrated to find I agree with him. Show off.

“You said you miss me?”

He nods.

“Well, now that I’m here, what are you gonna do with me?”
