I guess I did kind of give myself away there. Wouldn't need to take extra steps for some rando I picked up somewhere. Nah, no one is that observant.

He possesses the dark arts.

Echo: can i tell someone ab us just one person plsplspls i need to *prayer hands*

He responds quickly, probably glued to his phone since I left him like that. God, I kinda suck. And I'm a hypocrite.

Callum: sure.

Did that period seem angry? Upset? He didn't even ask any questions.

I can't be mad at Callum for doing things I do, especially when I don't allow him to explain. Now, being on the other end, I know I'd be terribly hurt if he took my exit the wrong way. He would listen to and accept anything I told him, though. I haven't given him that same luxury.

I look back up at Charlie who looks like he's going to come apart at the seems.

"We can't have this conversation here."

"Carrey, I'm taking my ten." He shouts over his shoulder as he rounds the bar.

"C'mon," he says, pulling my shirt, "we don't have much time."

That's when I learn that Charlie can sound excited too.

"Holy. Shit."

We're in a break room, which I wasn't aware were in any bars. It could be common, I dunno, I'm a musician, but it feels out of place to be sitting on a couch in the back of a bar.

Charlie paces in front of me, "Shouldn't I have signed an NDA or something."

"You're my friend," I furrow my brow, "Are you planning on telling anyone?"

"No! Of course not. I'm just shocked. This is bigger than I thought. Are you okay?"

"Huh? Why wouldn't I be?"

"That's a lot. And you have to keep it all inside."

I get to like him the more I know him. That must show on my face because his soft expression twists into a grimace.

"Ew, don't look at me like that or I'll stop being nice to you."

"You're nice to me?"

"You better believe it."

I sigh, "We're leaving for tour soon,"

"I know," He sits on the couch, "I was going to buy tickets but knowing you personally has made the band way less cool."

The more he speaks I realize that Charlie is genuinely a fan. The fact that he's never treated me differently despite certainly knowing who I was the moment I walked in that bar makes me appreciate him even more.

"So you wouldn't want to join for a couple dates?"

"Like a groupie?"

"Well, n—"

"Yes! Are you joking?"
