Can he just stop already? It's a lot easier to hate him when he's not being all… UGH!

After what happened last time you'd think I wouldn't be at this bar looking for a hookup, but you know what they say, third time's the charm.

"When are you gonna give up?" Charlie asks as I half-heartedly scope the scene.

"Huh?" I say, turning to look at him.

"This is your third try. Are you done after this or am I gonna have to keep watching you pretend you want to do this?"

"Wha…" My voice trails off. What the fuck? I like Charlie, I'd like to call him a friend at this point. But how the fuck does he know that?

He sighs, "You left the girl the first time and you looked ill with the guy from last time, so you probably ditched him too."

I cringe remembering that whole fiasco. God, that guy was weird. But then there was Callum, charging in like a superhero. Coming to save me.

Then I remember what happened after, and I can feel my cheeks heat.

"Wait. I'm confused. Did you go through with it or not? Your first face said 'hell no,' but your second face says 'hell yes.'"

"Um." I say, looking anywhere but Charlie. Who is apparently a sorcerer. How does he do that? I'm afraid he'll see the whole story in my eyes. Unless he can read my mind. I look at him.

"Um? You forced me to be your friend; you give me the tea on your life."

"Are those… the rules?" I ask.

"Of friendship? Yup. Don't you have other friends? Aren't you famous?"

That last question makes my jaw drop.

"You know who I am?!" I splutter.

"What kind of famous guy are you? I'm pretty sure that's usually asked in a different cadence."

"It's been almost half a decade and I'm still not used to it. Why didn't you say anything?"

"Should I have? You're just a guy, even if I hear you on the radio. And don't think you can change the subject. I need the tea."

"The radio…You listen to our music!?"

He rolls his eyes. Whatever, this is exciting. We aren't on the fucking radio.

"I'm not changing the subject. My only friends are my bandmates and my driver. One of my friends is my brother. And the fact that you listen to our music blows my mind."

"Will you feel better if I jerk off your ego and tell you I like your band? Now, what. Happened?"

I think about it for a moment. I don't want to out Callum, no matter what that's something I'd never do. But god, do I need someone to talk to.

"Give me a second," He looks at me, deadpan. I pull out my phone and gesture with it, "This involves more than just me."

Instead of getting annoyed again he looks happier than before. I think he might be smiling a little.

"You smile?"

"A lot of revelations about me tonight, huh? But to be fair I didn't even know those muscles still worked."

"What's making you use them then?"

"You pulled out your phone to consult someone, you're a rockstar, whatever you might tell me is about to be real good."
