I chuckle as I remember the fake intervention we had to set up to get Oliver to talk to Kellen. If they could make it past all that, maybe we'll be okay. The situations aren't the same though.
"I don't think we're quite that bad, but can you blame me? It's taken years to get to this point. I don't want to do anything to mess it up."
"Not talking will make it worse. Especially with someone as insecure as Echo when it comes to this stuff."
I sigh, "That's my fault anyway. I don't know Kel, I'm just waiting on him."
A door closes. "What if he's waiting on you?" Kellen asks.
Echo
Echo: let me in
Scout opens his hotel room door with confusion on his face.
"What do you want? It's late."
I check the time on my phone, "It's six thirty."
"Maybe I have plans, and wanted to nap."
"Well, it's good that I don't care then." I say, taking the place of a throw pillow on a chair. I hold the pillow and smile as Scout huffs. "Oh hush, you can get dick later. I want to talk to you."
He flops onto the other seat with an attitude, gesturing for me to speak.
"What's going on with you?"
"Huh?"
"You've been distant. We don't have to tell each other everything— Lord knows I haven't— but you know you can talk to me right?"
He softens, "I'm sorry I've been distracted lately."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
He looks down at his phone, "I can't."
"Is it a guy? Do I need to fight someone?"
His head snaps up as he finishes typing a text, "No. No, definitely not. It isn't like that."
"So there is a guy."
"I don't really want to talk about this Echo. I'm sorry, maybe another time I just… I just can't right now."
"Oh. Okay."
"How are things with Callum?" He asks, changing the subject.
"Better now. I figured all his effort was useless if I didn't try, too."
"That's brave of you. I'm proud. I saw how much this has all affected you, and you seem happier lately."
"I think I am. I'm nervous about the Texas show though."
"Oh? Why?"
"Callum's family will be there. I don't know how he's gonna behave. How should I behave?"
