Julie made it to the elevator and realized the screams had stopped. She looked up to Aston, who pulled her into his arms. “It wasn’t your fault, Jules. Don’t let anything she said in there faze you. She wasn’t right in the head.”

“Her life was a nightmare. I saw it, Aston. I saw her in my dreams. Why did Rosa have to send Corinne away? I don’t understand.”

“I’m sure she had her reasons.”

A door closed and Julie saw her men walking toward them. “Is she…”

Taylor nodded. “You won’t have to worry about her anymore. She’s not going to hurt anyone now.”

Sorrow and relief weighed heavily on her, and Julie wasn’t sure which one overpowered the other. She knew it was going to take time to heal, and she might never have the answers to all the questions Corinne left behind, but with her men at her side she knew she would be fine. A higher power had somehow given her another chance at life, and every day from then on out she was going to make the best of it.
