I swear I hear guilt in his tone, an emotion I was sure the Lincoln I’ve gotten to know didn’t feel.

“I ate cereal for almost every meal because it was cheap, and I never got tired of it. I bought Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles, and Fruit Loops because of the rainbow hues—my life was so gray; I wanted colors. Sometimes, I went to local parties or the bookstore just to be around people. I was so lonely.”

Trey leans his head on my shoulder. “Where the heck were your brothers during all this?” I feel his words vibrate against my body. He sounds angry.

“I never told them,” I say. “By the time Martin left, Seb was already in Vancouver living his dream with Marcus. I didn’t have the heart to tell them their dad was a piece of shit.”

We all sit in silence, listening to the rain outside, which has retreated to light sprinkles against the glass. After a few minutes, I hear Link snoring softly and smile. I nudge him with my elbow, and Trey lifts his head as I slide back beneath the covers.

“Let’s go back to sleep,” I say, yawning. I’m out within seconds.

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

CHARLIE

Something’s buzzing.

I look around sleepily, confused at first until I remember last night. My heart rate kicks up thinking about how hot the guys were together with me.

Together. With. Me.

I hear the buzzing again and realize it’s probably my phone.

Trey’s head is nestled against my shoulder, his blond hair tickling my neck, and he has one arm wrapped possessively around my waist.

Lincoln is facing me, his mouth practically touching mine as we lie there. His relaxed face is boyish in the soft morning light. My heart squeezes at the sight of him looking so peaceful. He always seems so closed-off and guarded, like he’s waiting for the world to betray him, though lately it seems like something is different. I thought he hated me at first, but now, especially after last night, I can’t really believe that anymore.

I wiggle a bit, trying to move from beneath Trey’s heavy arm while disentangling Link’s leg from mine, and I finally manage to slide free. I don’t know if it’s conscious or not, but once I’m out of the bed, Trey rolls closer to Lincoln so they’re practically spooning.

So cute.

I pad over to my discarded jeans and grab my phone from the pocket, checking the screen. I have five text messages from Fiona, and I realize with a quiet groan that I was supposed to meet her for coffee before our history class so we could study. It’s already nine.

I text her back, telling her I’ll be there in five, and start pulling on my pants.

“Going somewhere?” Lincoln rumbles, causing my heart to race as surprise prickles my senses.

I turn, but my legs, which are only halfway into my jeans, twist together, and I fall onto my butt.

“Oof” is all I can say.Real smooth, Charlie.

I smile guiltily at the guys, who’re staring down at me. They’re stupidly sexy right now.

Trey clutches his chest dramatically. “Were you about to try to ghost me again, Bennett?” His voice is rough from sleep.

“Not intentionally,” I laugh as I finish wiggling into my pants. “I completely forgot I told Fi I would study with her this morning.” I throw off Trey’s shirt before realizing I’m naked underneath.

“Shit.” I drop to my knees to search for my bra, which I find under the bed.

When I stand, a strong arm wraps around my waist. I squeal in alarm as I’m tugged back onto the bed and against Trey’s hard, warm chest.

“You’re such a caveman,” I say with a smile.

His hands immediately slide up my body to cup my breasts, and his mouth drops to my neck, biting roughly.

The sensation sends electricity to my pussy. I moan involuntarily, closing my eyes. “I really need to go.”

“Maybe we’re not ready for you to leave yet,” Lincoln purrs.
