“Yeah. Maybe I’ll head out tomorrow to get everything ready.”

“You don’t have to do that on account of me. Don’t change your plans.”

“I really didn’t have many, but I’ll head out tomorrow evening. I’ll text my address to you so you have it.”

She smiled. “This is really nice of you. Are you sure about this?”

“Completely sure.”

“I’ll have to tell Maya and Nina how wonderful their brother-in-law is.”

“I think they know that.” I flashed her a grin. “Which is why they’re probably in cahoots with that book club to match us up.”

Her hands whipped to her hips. “Oh, yeah? Then they must know that about me, too, since I’m your match.”

The glint of mischief behind her gaze made me crazy for her. There was something so carefree about her. I wished I had even a sprinkle of that in my life.

Daisy closed her eyes and let out a groan. “I have a confession.”

“What’s that?”

She blinked her eyes open and bit her lip, which was so darn sexy. Her gaze met mine, and the tiny curl to her lip was so cute.

But now that she was back to being my employee, I had to ignore those little traits that drove me crazy for her.

“I feel like karma is coming for me.” She let out a slow, deep breath.

I cocked my head slightly. “How so?”

She squeezed her eyes shut and blurted out a sentence so fast I couldn’t even decipher it.

“Try again.” I walked toward her, closing the gap.

Daisy laughed and slowly tried again. “Behind the scenes, I was instrumental in setting up both of your brothers.”

My eyes widened in surprise. “No way.” I couldn’t stop laughing. “Are you serious?”

She nodded, bringing her hands to her mouth. “I know how good the Sunshine Breakfast Club is at what they do.”

“Does that worry you?”

She grinned. “Not too much.”

“Okay, so we can beat them at their own game. When you get down to Madison, we’ll set up completely platonic boundaries that we’ll both follow.”

She gave a strong nod. “Yes, we can avoid their trickery.”

“Exactly. Who needs love?” I chuckled.

Daisy narrowed her eyes on me. “Love?”

“Or whatever they’re trying to throw at us.”

Daisy’s wry smile widened. “Yeah, it’s love.”

“And at Christmas, of all times.”

She chuckled. “The nerve.”
