“This is why I wanted you to leave,” Justine growled at Taylor.

Taylor’s face lost its glee. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize-”

Taylor didn’t get to finish as the door burst open and Christy walked inside. “There you are, I’ve been looking for you all over! What are we doing in here?” Christy looked around, her blue eyes landing on Rebelle. “Rebelle, are you okay, what’s going on?”

“I think we need to clear the room. Both of you, out!” Justine said, clapping her hands together.

“I’m not going anywhere until I know Rebelle is alright,” Christy replied. Rebelle glanced around at the three women in front of her, all determined to make sure she was okay and a warm feeling unfurled inside her.

“It’s fine,” Rebelle told Justine. “Actually, this is kinda nice,” she whispered, scared to admit it in case they didn’t feel the same.

“Well, duh! We’ve been trying to get you to hang out with us for years. It’s about time it happened, just maybe not quite like this,” Taylor said.

“If you feel like you want to talk about it, then tell us what’s going on?” Justine spoke softly.

“I don’t know what’s going on, that’s the problem. My brain is doing stupid things and I freaked out.”

“What’s your brain doing?” Christy asked.

Rebelle paused before answering, looking down at her hands tangled in her lap. “I can’t stop staring at Will’s mouth and Irealized just now…I think I want to,” she swallowed hard, “kiss him.”

There was silence and Rebelle eventually looked at each woman in turn and found them either grinning or trying to smother a grin.

“It’s about damn time,” Taylor replied.

“That boy has been mooning over you since my wedding,” Christy added.

Rebelles eyes felt like they were about to bug out of her head like Doug the Pug’s did. “What!”

“You didn’t realize?”

“No! Why would I know that?” Rebelle gasped out.

“You’re not that clued up on men, are you?”

“Taylor!” Justine scolded, coming to Rebelle’s defence because she knew the history, which neither of these women did.

“No, I’m not. My dead husband was an abusive, manipulative asshole so I’m not great at reading normal signals,” Rebelle said quietly. She eyed them all, watching the pity taking over their faces. “And you can get rid of those pitying looks right now, I don’t need it. I am fine. Just not when it comes to Will’s smile apparently,” she muttered.

“It is award-winning,” Christy conceded.

Taylor snorted. “Just ask him.”

“Do you think you’re ready for something like that? To explore a sexual relationship?” Justine asked, gently.

“I don’t know, how would I know?”

“Well, are you horny? Are you masturbating?”

Rebelle spluttered. “You can’t ask me that!”

Christy snorted. “I think she just did.”

“Look, we’re all adults here. We’ve all doneit. And not only that, but we’re also girlfriends, right?” Taylor said, looking to Rebelle who nodded, reluctantly. “And that’s who you tell all your secrets to. So out with it, are you?”

Rebelle shook her head. “No, I never really have before.”

Justine shrugged. “Maybe give that a try?”
