“You just don’t like it when I’m right, do you?” I huffed in amusement.

“Nope.” She said the word with a little pop before shoving her papers and sketchbook back in her folder, and then into the backpack. “I should go.”

“You’re coming tonight, right?” I asked, hoping she’d say yes. It was crazy how I’d blinked, and the semester was already almost over. “To the party?”

And somehow, it felt like she was going to slip away from me. Sure, we still had things planned—and the formal—but after that, I wouldn’t see her for over a month.

We’d be on winter break, and I’d be hours away from her in Vermont while she went home.

And it felt like the longer things went on, the more she pulled away from me.

“I don't know…”

“Ella,” I rasped out, unable to help myself. “Please come. For me?”

She looked up at me, and I saw her work through the emotions on her face before she nodded. “Okay, fine. I’ll be there.”

I grinned. “Perfect.”

I already couldn’t wait.

“You have no chill,” Stellan muttered as he caught me waiting by the door.

Maybe he was right, but I didn’t care. Iwas just glad she’d agreed to come. The party was already in full swing in the background, but I didn’t care.

Because she washere.Back in my house for the first time since Halloween.

“Hi, Princess,” I say when her familiar blonde head of hair finally reached me, her sister at her side.

It was crazy, because despite being identical twins, they were so different. I’d thought it the first time, but the more time I spent with Ella, the more I knew I’d recognize her anywhere. And maybe that was just how deep she was under my skin that I felt like I had her entire being memorized, but she was the most gorgeous thing I’d ever seen.

“Hi.” Her cheeks were pink, even the little tip of her nose—probably from the chilly walk over here in the November weather.

Either that, or my nickname flustered her. Maybe it made her think about that night we spent together. Which was possibly why I couldn’t stop calling her it.

“Can I take your coat?” I offered, holding out my arm for the thick winter pea coat she was wearing with a scarf.

Ella looked down, as if realizing what she was wearing for the first time. “Oh. Sure.” Pulling it off her body, she exposed a sexy little white wraparound dress that she’d worn with tights and a pair of wedged boots.

Audrey, in comparison, was wearing a tan sweater tucked into a pink skirt, and she leaned in to whisper something in Ella’s ear before darting off into the crowd.

“Is that dress for me, Princess?” I murmured in her ear as I leaned in behind her.

“N-no.”

“I think it is.” I traced a finger up her spine, enjoying the feel of her bare skin under mine. It was as much as I dared to do. I wanted to pull her into my arms, to dance with her like we had on Halloween, to feel her lips under mine again—but I had to have patience.

I wanted her to want me the way I wanted her.

She shuddered at the motion. “Cam. We shouldn’t.” The fraternity house was teeming with both her sorority sisters and my fraternity brothers.

I sighed. “You’re probably right.”

“I always am,” she insisted.

There’s my stubborn girl,I thought, but instead of voicing it, I offered her my hand. “Want a drink?”

“Yes. Please.”
