“Thanks for catching me,” I mumbled, wanting to bury my face in his coat in embarrassment.

“Always.” He tilted up my chin to bring our eyes together. “I’ll always catch you, Ella.”

I shivered, but it wasn’t from the cold.

“Come on,” he murmured, looking back at the lodge. “Let’s go warm you up.”

I protested I wasn’t cold, but then I thought of something better. My lips curled up in a sly smile. “What if I have other ideas on how to… warm up?” Wiggling my eyebrows, I hoped he picked up on what I was suggesting.

“I think I’d love to hear those ideas,” he said, bringing us practically nose to nose.

“It involves you…” I drew circles on his jacket, fumbling with the top of his zipper. “And me…” He nodded, hanging on every word. “And the shower.”

“Fuck it.” He helped me out of my skis before tossing me over his shoulder. “Let’s go.”

I laughed, feeling a warm glow flow through me.

And I let it settle all the way back to the house, wishing this moment never had to end.

Wishing we could live in this moment forever.

Wishing nothing ever had to change.

The days flew by in a blur, much faster than I would have liked.

Cam and I skied together, we watched movies cuddled together on the couch, and I’d spent every night in his bed. Wearing his shirt.

He’d made me come more times than I can count, sometimes on his tongue, occasionally with his fingers, but it just kept gettingbetter.Especially when he thrust inside of me, making me see stars faster than should have been humanly possible.

“I don’t want this to end,” I murmured, wrapped in his arms as we woke up on the second-to-last day. Our limbs were tangled together, like we needed to be touching in every conceivable way.

“I know.” He kissed the crown of my head.

“Come home with me,” I breathed, not sure why the offer felt right, but itdid. All I knew was that I didn’t want to say goodbye tothis. Not when everything was so good, and felt so right.

“Ella.” He sighed, brushing a strand of hair back and tucking it behind my ear. “You know I want to.”

I frowned. “Thendo.Come.”

“I can’t.”

“I know.” But I still sighed, wishing that it wasn’t the reality of our situation.

“It’ll only be two weeks,” he promised. “Then we’ll be back at CU, and you can see me every day.”

“Every day? Being a little assumptive, aren’t we, Charming?”

Cam nuzzled his nose into my neck. “Yes. Because I don’t want to let you go.”

I hummed into his hold. “So… What should we do today?” I asked, running my fingers through his soft, dark brown strands. “I saw there’s a sledding park nearby.” I’d had my fill of skiing, but I could be persuaded to slide down snow on an inner tube for the day.

“Yeah?” He grinned.

“Wanna share an inner tube, boyfriend?” I gave him a little wink.

“I like that.”

“What?”
