“Ezra Beaufort, this seems to be getting serious,” she whispers dramatically, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “What are we?”

I drop my arms to her waist and drag her even closer to my body. “Well, if a certain someone hadn’t said no, you’d probably be my fiancée, no, mywiferight now.”

She blushes and starts to lower her eyes, but I raise a hand to her chin, keeping eye contact. “But I’m a patient man and can bide my time. So, I’d say you’re my girlfriend. For now.” I can’t resist adding.

Charlie gives me a sweet smile, making my heart squeeze in my chest. I drop my head to press my lips against hers. She parts her lips readily, her tongue thrusting out to intertwine with mine.

I drag my hand up her back to hold the back of her head as I deepen the kiss. I groan as I drink her in. Her sweet taste is like fuel to my hardening cock. She shifts closer, her hands seeking my shoulders.

“Hello! Ezra! Anybody home?”

Charlie stiffens, breaking the kiss, when we hear my sister’s voice coming from the bedroom. She takes a couple of steps away from me, her eyes going wide like we’re a couple of teenagers just caught making out in the closet. Damn it, what the fuck is Andrea doing here without calling to check with me first? I should change the gate code.

“Hold on!” I call out to her, just in case the little snoop decides to barge in.

CHAPTER 32

CHARLIE

We walk out of the closet to see Andrea opening one of the nightstand drawers.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, you little shit?” Ezra snips irritably.

“Going through your things.” Andrea returns unbothered. “You really should put more personal effects in here. There’s not a single thing to be learned from going through this barren drawer,” she complains, finally standing and glancing at us with an amused expression. “What were you two kids doing in there? Hope I didn’t interrupt anything.”

“What are you doing here?” Ezra demands.

“This place is practically my second home now with how much time I’ve been spending here over the past couple of weeks.”

“Andrea,” he growls.

“Ezra.” She deadpans, her amusement deepening. It’s so obvious she likes messing with her brother.

“Ezra told me you helped him redecorate the house. It’s absolutely gorgeous,” I chip in, walking to her.

“Thank you.” She grins, meeting me halfway to wrap her arms around me in a quick hug. “How was the move yesterday? Homesick yet?”

Funny enough, I haven’t even thought about my old place once since we got here yesterday. “Not yet. Give me time,” I utter and wink.

“Well, when you’re sick of this one, you can always come to my place,” she offers, dropping her hand to my arm to pull me out of the room. Ezra trails behind us, and Andrea tosses him a glance.

“Give us space, bruh. You had your time with her, now it's my turn. Shoo.” She waves him away. Ezra glances at me, his brows furrowed in concern. I give him a nod. I’ll be fine.

“Don’t scare her away,” he warns, turning to go back to the room.

“You haven’t unpacked yet, right? Do you need any help?” Andrea asks as we walk downstairs to the living room.

“I might. Ezra was just showing me the wardrobe space when you came in. I want to unpack my clothes and essentials first, then we can gradually move on to the others.”

“Great. I’ll call Autumn to come help out. Between the three of us, we should be done in a jiffy.”

“Oh, I don’t know. I wouldn’t want to impose on her day.”

“Nonsense, there’s no imposition anywhere.” She dismisses me as she takes her phone out. “The three of us are practically sisters now. Hey, Autumn, what are you doing? Think you can come up to Ezra and Charlie’s place?–she needs our help unpacking–awesome, see you soon.” She hangs up. “It’s done.”

I give her a warm smile. It never occurred to me that by coming here–by being with Ezra–I’d also be gaining his family members. “Thank you.”

She waves her hand again, “No need for all that. Like I said, we’re family now.”
