“Stop it! He’s already pissed that we're five minutes late! Don’t give him another reason to scold us, Casanova!” I hissed at him. Swatting his hand away.

I walked up to Apollo, joining him and the rest of the team waiting for us. “Sorry we’re late, Alpha, it won't happen again.”

“I trust it won't! Now let's head out,” he said, turning to climb into the bus.

Onasis was driving like usual, and the rest of us followed Apollo; the wolves were already in the back section of the bus that was hollowed out for them.

I watched in delight as we left Enyo and headed down the curvy road. My adrenaline was pumping hard throughout my body, causing my leg to bounce anxiously. Atlas laid a hand on my jittery thigh, and I turned to look at him.

“Relax, bunny,” he said in a calming tone, causing all kinds of butterflies to erupt in my stomach.

“Okay, we will arrive in town soon. The mission is to destroy the five lesser demons terrorizing the people there. This is a cut-and-dry mission, something all of you have been on before.” He said, eying up each of the guys as they nodded at him. “Let’s show Diana how it is done effectively and efficiently. No one will die today, and as always, remember to stay liquid.” Apollo said before the bus came to a stop just outside of the town.

“Why does he always say stay liquid?” I asked Atlas, following him out of the bus.

“He says it because we always need to prepare for anything and need to adjust at a moment's notice if things change. Always following the flow, like a river, and not get comfortable because, just like a river, things can change at any time, without warning. We need to stay fluid and change tactics without hesitation,” Atlas said.

“That is the most inspiring thing I’ve ever heard come from you, Casanova,” I replied, waiting for Apollo’s command.

“There are five demons that we know of; everyone stay alert as we scout the area. Phoenix and Onasis, you take the left, Atlas and Diana take the right, and Eros and I will take the center. The wolves will split between us to provide aid.” Apollo ordered before we moved out.

I had an arrow nocked, ready to draw back, and my daggers were sheathed on the outside of my thighs for easy access. Atlas had his sword drawn and ready beside me, with Isarr on my other side. We slowly crept around the right side of the town, scouting for demons.

The smell of sulfur was thick in the air, letting us know there were multiple creatures afoot. When we passed the next house, there was a huge spider-looking creature clinging to the wall.

“Atlas on your left!” I yelled before letting an arrow fly at the demon.

My arrow hit home in the middle of what I thought was its head, but it did little to stop it from crawling to us. Its fangs were like long tusks, dripping a green slime from the sharp as fuck tip.

I pulled on my gift easily, concealing me and Isarr in an instant. I watched as the demon paused, unable to see us, before it turned heading for Atlas.

I reached out to the silver rope in my mind, and my body was flooded with electricity and magic. I tossed the rope like a lasso around Atlas in my head. Watching as the spider stopped, looking around for the prey he lost again.

I let out a little laugh, watching the creature spin in circles; this was such a rush.

All of a sudden, half of the creature's legs were cut off, with the other half being sliced off in the next heartbeat, causing it to drop to the ground, no longer able to hold itself up.

That had to be Atlas’s doing; my man was deadly.

I let down the rope, feeling the magic leave my body in one fast motion, causing us to become visible once again.

Atlas was directly in front of the demon, sword positioned above his head. He swung down quickly, slicing the demon in half with what looked like no effort at all.

Its body vanished into shadows that disappeared into the night.

“That was fucking brilliant, Casanova!” I said, jogging up to his side.

He swept me up in his arms, planting a heart-stopping kiss on my lips before putting me down. My head swam with all the feelings I had for this man.

“You are astounding, bunny,” he said before placing another quick kiss on my lips.

Orpheus said Apollo killed two demons, and Tala said Phoenix killed one. So, if our sources are correct, there is still one more demon. Stay focused, Diana.

Right! Focus!

“Isarr said the others killed three demons; with ours, that means there is one left.” I relayed the message to Atlas.

“Roger that,” he said, moving forward, motioning me to follow behind him. When we rounded the next house, we nearly ran into Apollo and Eros battling another demon.
