“No, we don’t. But knowing how hard he has worked, as his pres, I can’t ignore his contributions. I’m just gonna add a stipulation to his cut. Fanatic will do it, but I need him to understand we aren’t kicking him to the kerb. And it might give us the time needed to protect him,” Chance said.

“Okay. Makes sense. I’ll shout Wraith and Slaughter to escort your old lady and Thalia. Clio’s running about all over the place and needs covering,” Bear offered, and Chance nodded.

“Yeah, have them take turns. And Bear, make sure the prospects understand that even on Hellfire, the girls are to be guarded,” Chance added.

He swapped glances with Sunny. They didn’t need to voice the words. It didn’t matter how secure the compound was; someone could always get lucky and breach the walls. Chance wasn’t prepared to risk it. Not with his woman and her sister at risk. Chance kicked Sunny and Bear out of his office and ran a hand down his face.

Was this a new threat or an old one? Was the guy a fed or something else? Chance knew Sunny would be running systems to get an ID on the guy, and then they should be able to discover his motives. Chance knew there were too many questions and not enough answers. Hopefully, Sunny would get back to him soon.

Chance grabbed his phone and punched Clio’s name.

“Where are you, baby?”

Clio

“Thalia, will you please, and very nicely, take a hike? I have everything organised, and quite frankly, you’re messing my chilled-out vibe!” I said calmly.

Thalia raised her eyebrow and sent me ‘the look’. That might work on Bear, but not me. I sent a returning look back at her, and she snickered.

“Yeah, that’s like looking in a mirror.” Thalia grinned and settled her ass on a chair. She reached out and grabbed my plans, and I snatched them back.

“Back off, bitch face,” I growled.

“Play nice and share your toys,” Thalia snapped. “I want to help.”

“Thalia, there’s nothing left to do except double-check a few things. Everything is planned, and I even have backup plans should something go wrong,” I said.

“You let Phoe and Tati help,” Thalia argued.

“Not with the planning. They just helped check a few things off,” I demurred.

“What can I do?” Thalia demanded.

“How about you support me and believe in me?”

“I do!” Thalia exclaimed.

“Then stop poking your nose in and trust I got this covered,” I replied.

“So rude,” Thalia sniped as we walked across the forecourt. I was meeting the guy who was delivering the stalls and making sure they were placed according to my plan. He was due any time now.

“I know, I was dragged up,” I teased, and Thalia’s mouth opened and then snapped shut.

“Hey, who’s that?” Thalia asked, looking towards the forecourt gates.

They were closed as the garage and shops were shut. The only people about were Thalia and me, although the gate to the compound was open and manned by Wraith.

A guy peeked through the gates, one I recognised. Curiosity and anger both sweeping through me, I straightened my shoulders.

“I don’t know, but I’m about to find out!” I growled and began pursuing the spy.

Chapter Five.

Clio

Istormed towards the forecourt gates with a mission in mind. The guy saw me coming and smirked before taking to his heels.

“Clio!” Wraith yelled as I broke into a jog.
