‘Well, you’re good at making me.’

She watched the muscles in his jaw flick and realised he wasn’t nearly as relaxed as he was making out.

‘Don’t push me, Cally.Or I’ll make you come some more. Here and now and damn the audience.’

‘Really?’

She saw the heat in his eyes explode into flames.Saw the hastily checked move towards her, the hand that rose and fell.

‘You know I could.’

That was beside the point.‘I don’t want to marry you.’

‘I’m not that thrilled about it either, but it’s happening, so get over it, Cally.’

Afterwards she could hardly remember the ceremony. All she knew was that it went fast and that all of a sudden the officiator was telling Blake to kiss her.

They hadn’t kissed since that weekend.Apart from that one moment on the deck they’d barely touched at all.She lifted her head to look at him and was instantly lost in his burning sea-green eyes. There was such depth to them.Anger most definitely.Aggression.Arrogance.

Suddenly there was nothing else in the world but them, No one else in the world but them. The enormity of their actions hit her in a wall of panic.Just as she was about to run, he bent his head and pressed his lips to hers.Immediately she stilled.

It was to be a chaste kiss.Perfunctory.For the camera she’d seen in Judith’s hand. But then his hand moved, his fingers sliding into her hair, and she opened her mouth at the exact moment he did and any suggestion it was chaste was ridiculous. His tongue swept into her mouth, staking his claim, asserting the authority. As she collapsed forward, his other am clamped around her and pulled her hard against his rigid body. Her arms slid up his back, giving in, wanting him, and she felt his fingers twisting in her hair.

It was only when Judith wolf-whistled that they broke apart, remembering there were people in the room.He kept one hand on her and she realised how wobbly on her feet she was.Concern flashed in his eyes and she shook her head at him.It was the lust making her dizzy.Nothing else.

Cally looked around and tried to cover the crazy way her heart was beating. She wanted to hide the need racing through her veins. One touch had been it.There was no way she wouldn’t be throwing herself at him—as soon as possible.

Judith was smiling and still taking photos.Mel was wide eyed.

Blake slid his hand down her arm and gripped her fingers. Her skin sizzled and all she could think about was the night ahead. He’d take care of her well and good.God, she wanted him to.Pent-up passion crackled in the air around them.

‘Bye, Mel.’She gave her friend a quick hug.

‘Are you sure you know what you’re doing?’Mel whispered in her ear.‘That kiss didn’t look like some business deal to me, Cally.’

‘This marriage is about the baby and nothing but,’ she whispered back.

Mel gave her such a ‘yeah, right’ expression and opened her mouth to argue, but Blake interrupted, smiling at Mel.

‘I’m taking Cally home now.She looks tired.’

‘Oh, yeah, she needs to get to bed right away,’ Mel agreed dryly.

Blake’s grin sharpened.‘I couldn’t agree more.’

The smile disappeared the minute they were away from the register office, away from the witnesses. They belted into his car and he drove them straight to his place, his hands gripping the steering wheel.Silence all the way.He wasn’t aslaissez-faireabout the situation as she’d thought. He looked as irresistibly complex as he had that night at the auction—half joking on the surface but completely tense underneath. Not just a pretty face—there was way more in the depths of him and too late she recognised she knew too little. Her own tension kept her rigid as she tried to deny the soft ache between her legs, the moisture that had been seeping there ever since she’d first seen him in that suit.Damn if she wasn’t sick of fighting this attraction. This need. She couldn’t and wouldn’t deny it any more.It was her wedding night and shouldn’t she go for one she could remember the rest of her days?

She’d been holding back in the hope it would keep her head clear and her heart safe.Obviously that had failed. So why not have the cake and eat it too?

He opened the door for her and then slammed it behind him.She turned at the sound. His brows were drawn over fiery eyes.

‘Have you eaten?’he questioned roughly.

‘I had some soup earlier.’The last thing she felt like was food. What she felt like was him.‘What about you?’

He walked towards her, his energy visible. Her eyes widened and he didn’t stop till he towered above her, millimetres away.‘I’m really hungry.’

She blinked slowly.‘You want something with texture and bite?’
