“They are good. Jesse is still undefeated and the book store is doing well.”
“That’s great to here.”
“Yeah how's you and Jasper?” He asks with a knowing smile.
“We are great and I’m officially Jordan’s mom I signed the papers yesterday.”
“That’s great I’m so happy to hear that.” Sonny says with excitement and gives me a hug. I’ve been working for an hour behind the bar and things are going well no asshole customers so that’s great. I grab a glass and turn around to serve the next customer, I drop the glass when I see my uncle. Why in God’s name is he here?
“It’s been awhile right Levy?” My hands start to shake and I’m starting to freak out until Sonny grabs my hand.
“Is everything okay?” He asks with concern.
“Yeah everything is fine.” And I’m lying I’m so not fine and he knows it because I haven’t stopped shivering since I laid eyes on him. Sonny squeezes my hand tighter and I squeezed his hand back.
“How have you been?”
“Good.”
“That’s good to hear sweetie.” Hearing him call me that turns my stomach. I grab him a beer and place it in front of him. I didn’t let go of Sonny hand until my uncle got off the stool.
“I’ll see you around.” When he left the bar my body relaxes.
“Should I call Jasper?”
“No.” I yelled.
“Sorry everything is fine Sonny.”
“No the hell you're not you were terrified and you are still shivering Levy tell me what’s going on.”
“I’m fine, I promise.” Sonny sighs heavily.
“I’ll let it go for now, but Levy you need to talk to us specially Jasper because you are not fine.”
“I hear you Sonny.” Finishing up cleaning up the bar.
“Sonny thank you for not pushing it.”
“Yeah but I want to know what he did to you Levy nobody’s just scared of a person for no reason.”
“I don’t like talking about my past.”
“I hear you Levy, but if you could be in danger we need to know.”
“If I am I’ll let you know.”
“You better now let’s go home.” I nod my head. I understand where he’s coming from, but I can’t go there not right now. I have a son to take care of now and he’s the most important thing to me. Sonny drops me off and I go straight to Jordan’s room. When I get there he was already asleep I kiss his forehead than walk into my room and Jasper wasn’t there I laid down and close my eyes.
“Levy get your ass out here now!” I sighed as I walk out of the room. He back hands me and I fall to the floor.
“Have you lost your fucking mind getting into a fight again.”
“She hit me first.”
“I don’t care this is your second fight this week and you are going to learn how to stay out of trouble.” He takes out his knife and I went pale.
“No not again.”
