My brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”
The door slammed open as the frame shook from the force. Jessica glared at me as she walked back down the hall. From my understanding, she was using a spare office down the hall. My father walked to the door. “Caleb! Come on in!”
I walked inside and sat down in front of my father’s desk. “Why did you call me in here?”
“One long-term client of ours, Reginald Marks, has decided that they are thinking of going somewhere else. That’s where you come in. From what I have seen, you’ve been doing well. The only way we could convince them to stay would be to meet you. They are very family-oriented and when they heard you were here with us, he requested only you.”
“Me? I can do it. Where am I going?”
“Not just you. Your assistant will be going. What’s her name? Jennie?”
I bit the inside of my cheek. “It’s Jordan.”
“Yes, yes. Jennifer. Talk to Amanda about the itinerary. She should have all the things! I have another meeting to go to,” he said as he walked past me. My shoulders slumped. This wastypical of him, but somewhere deep down, I wished it wasn’t. I turned back to Amanda.
“You got the deets?”
Amanda laughed again. “Yes, most definitely.” She passed me a packet. “You’ll be leaving tomorrow. How does that sound?”
“Is it an early flight or a late flight?”
She made a face as her gray hair fell into her face as she looked back at her computer screen. “Sorry, it’s a red-eye. No luck.”
I shrugged. “It will be fine. I’ll be in pleasant company.”
“Jordan always was bright. I’m glad that she’s in a much better place than she was a few weeks ago. Always felt bad for the poor dear. Of course, Kate never let her come up here often. If there was face-time with the big man, she would be here.”
I nodded. Gotta love Amanda’s honesty. “She’s the best. She’s great at following directions.” I lifted my packet and waved it at her. “I’ll see you around, Amanda. And thanks again.”
My hand slipped in my pocket as I fondled the surprise I got for Jordan. Now I just had to figure out how to get close enough to her to show it to her. Her head looked up as I walked into view. I waved the folder in front of her.
“Come to my office.”
Her head tilted. “Why?”
“I got a surprise.”
Her eyes flickered toward the folder. “I already know about that.”
“You don’t know about the other surprise I have.”
Her lips parted as she looked up at me. My body leaned over her desk as my lips hovered over her ear. “Be a good girl and come into my office.”
“Stop it,” she whined. Her pupils dilated and her chest rose as her breathing increased.
My finger and thumb crooked under her chin and tilted her mouth closer to mine. The woman was mine. Why did she continue to fight this attraction to me? If I wasn’t working here, I could have her all to myself.
“Come into my office now.”

Jordan
My pussy clenched at his words. It was unfair the hold he had on me. His fingers left my skin as he turned toward the office. As if something else had a hold of me, I followed. The door shut behind me as he was closing the blinds.
“Did you finally decide to be a good girl?”
“What did you need to talk about?”
