Plans that involved us needing to shower and get ready for. Preferably together.

“As much as I want to stay with you on this bench, we should go get ready for our alpha.”

Her swollen lips curved into a naughty smile and I knew that we were in trouble tonight.

“Let’s go.”

Summer

Ididn’t know much about cars, but I could recognize a work of art when I saw one. The car that Dean had chosen for tonight was just that.

It smelled of tea, lemon, and leather polish, and I loved how our alpha took the time buckling each of us in. His strong hands made sure we were fastened and safe and sound before he gave each of us a kiss, and climbed behind the wheel.

Of course, a benefit of vintage cars like this was the fact that we were all on a bench seat up front. There was no way it could’ve fit three other members of the pack, except maybe Miles, and I was definitely not complaining about the way our thighs touched together.

Especially, because I was in the middle, and both Dean and Bash had settled a hand right above my knee just below the hem of my dress.

“So what's the plan for tonight, alpha?” I asked Dean, covering his hand with mine.

A small growl rolled through him. “I love the sound of that on your lips, Sunshine. Just like I’m going to love the feel of them on mine tonight as we take it old school. I know you’re already ours, but that doesn’t mean we still don’t want to court you, and give you everything you deserve. And what you deserve right now, is to have a quintessential, Holiday Hollow experience. One that if I’d met you any sooner before college, I definitely would have asked you to.”

Bash bounced a little bit in his seat, clapping his hands together, clearly having figured out where we were going.

I knew Holiday Hollow like the back of my hand, so there were only a couple options that fit that description. But judging by the fact that we were in a wonderful car that just so happened to be a convertible and it was almost dusk, there was only one option that made sense.

“We’re going to the drive-in,” I said, confidently.

“I love how smart you are,” Dean complimented. “So how did I do?”

“A few hours of being in the dark, sandwiched between the two of you with delicious treats?” I shrugged. “I guess it depends on what the feature is.”

Dean laughed. “Bash has been rubbing off on you.”

“Hell yeah I have,” he said proudly, squeezing my thigh. “I had to make sure she got nice and clean in the shower.”

“Feature?” I reminded him.

“A double showing of the first two films with a certain masked man returning to camp to serve up a case of revenge,” Dean said, glancing at me knowingly as he pulled into the drive in and paid for our car.

“Cole told you!” I accused.

“Happily,” he agreed. “We’re stronger as a pack and we play to our strengths. Although, I’m sure he was exaggerating when he said you made him have a marathon every single time the thirteenth lands on a Friday.”

I pleaded the fifth.

“You’re just going to have to promise to hold Dean real tight,” Bash whispered in my ear. “Especially if you know a jump scare is coming.”

Grinning up at him, I gave him a subtle nod. This was going to be amazing. Living in the city, the past four years hadn’t afforded me a chance to do this. This sky never got quite as dark as it did here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Going to the drive-in was something I loved doing growing up here, and I couldn’t wait to get back to that tradition and pass it on to our own kids when they were old enough.

“Whatever you’re thinking, keep doing it,” Dean said. “I love that look on your face.”

Dean parked the car on one of the small hills near the back of the lot, but straight in front of the screen. After putting the car in park he put the top down and let the rapidly cooling summer breeze flow through the car.

“I packed some blankets in the trunk, in case we get cold,” he said, throwing an arm around me.
