Summer curled against me, melting into my touch as she rested her head on my shoulder.

“Whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you, always. There’s not a thing in this world that I would keep from you,” I told her, softly pressing my lips to her hair. “The truth is that I never thought I’d get to experience this again. I didn’t think having another omega was in the cards for me, but I am so incredibly blessed that you came into our lives. I couldn’t imagine taking this leap of faith with anyone else but you, and I don’t need your scent to reassure me of that. Even if it tells me we’re a perfect match.”

“When I came back to Holiday Hollow, I wasn’t sure what to expect. All I really wanted was to give Theo what he deserved and that was a dad,” Summer said. “I had never stopped loving Cole, but I had felt such immense guilt for the accident after I felt his pain. I didn’t expect anything to happen between us because I wasn’t sure if he could forgive me, but it turns out we both had to forgive each other and move forward.”

“Which I’m proud of you both for doing,” I said, tightening my arms around her.

They had both worked hard, and in so many ways to find their way back to each other. I remembered the dark days with Cole, and it was something I never wanted him to have to go through again. He put in the work and determination, and let us in, but Summer was always a factor.

She placed a kiss on my chest, resting her hand upon it. “The point I’m trying to make is that I got more than I expected by coming home in the best possible way. Life doesn’t always work out how we want it to or how we expect it to. I came home so Theo could have a dad, and he wound up with five. And I’ve never been happier.”

My heart swelled at her words.

“I will do anything to protect that boy and make him happy,” I swore. “I’d do it regardless if I was your alpha, or not. But I promise you no harm will come to him. He’s the perfect blend of Cole and you, and he’s already worked his way into all of our hearts.”

Spending time with Theo had been nothing short of amazing. Seeing how smart he was at the young age of three, and how he engaged with everyone was special. Not to mention all the positive changes I’ve seen with the pack. They had something more to look forward to, something to engage with outside of work. We had always been a family, but having Theo and Summer in our lives definitely enriched it.

“Speaking of Cole and I and working our way into hearts, we should probably talk about what happened during the heat, alpha.”

I could hear the smile in her voice, and when she turned around on my lap to straddle me fully, sure enough, it graced her beautiful lush lips.

“Your heat brings back fond memories,” I said, my thumb stroking over where my bond mark laid on her shoulder.

“Does that include the moment you and Cole shared?”

My chest warmed at the memory. I didn't shy away like she probably thought I would. Instead I let a smirk form on my lips as my eyes met hers, gaze strong and sure.

"It seems we weren't the only ones feeling that attraction," I mused. She blushed furiously and bit her bottom lip, but she also didn't look away.

"The thought of you two definitely is hot as hell. But I'm more concerned that you're both running from the attraction," she argued. "Is it the fact you're both alphas?"

I considered her question.

"That's part of it. There's this inherent need to be in charge that gets in the way. But I also respect Cole enough to defer to him when I need to. With us there is attraction, but our bond with you was more important than that. Whatever we create will likely be slow and steady. For now, I'm content to share moments between the three of us."

The thought of sandwiching our omega between us, without the fog of heat was enough to have my cock twitching. Though it was already at half mast thanks to having her nestled in my lap where she belongs.

Summer chuckled as she wiggled slightly. I made her sit still with hands on her hips, keeping her steady as I watched the waitress approach. She had a smile on her face that she tried to hide. I doubted we were the first to tuck away up here.

"Can I interest you in dessert?" Summer startled at the waitress' question, and gave me a glare that held no real annoyance.

"Absolutely you can," she answered with a laugh.

"Excellent choice. We have wine pairings next to them," she offered, handing over a small menu and stepping a few feet away to give us a moment to discuss.

"Oh, this is going to be tough," Summer groaned as her eyes drank in the selections and the pictures beside each that were pure art.

"Choose for me as well, we can share," I offered.

"I was torn between the chocolate decadence and the tiramisu, it does say it's world famous after all," she said with a light laugh.

My hand went up to wave over our waitress.

"Did we decide?" she asked, focusing more on Summer than me. Deferring to the omega wasn't a common strategy, but it was effective. I loved seeing my omega get the respect she deserved.

"We did," Summer said, giving her our order.

"Don't forget the paired wines," I added. "One of each, we'll share."
