None of them needed to do this, but they had, and he was incredibly grateful. They said it was because they saw the financial opportunities and he believed that to a point.

He knew they weremostlydoing it to help him.

Oh, and Daniel had pointed out he would get some sweet loving tonight from his author wife, Harper.

TMI.

After briefing the lawyers and hearing all the details, Daniel had asked if they’d be interested in prosecuting Randall Scott.

“We’ll need evidence. Perhaps more than just the handwriting,” one of the men replied from the law firm Roberts, Halt, and Thornton.

“Ah, hang on—” Blake started.

“It’s Bella’s decision, Blake. I get it. I want to know if Roberts, Halt, and Thornton will take it on.”

“This could be a lengthy trial,” Simon Thornton said.

“Or not.” Henry Halt smirked.

“Indeed,” the other man whose surname was Roberts said.

Blake had been eager to get to Bella and his attention wavered.

“So?” Daniel pushed.

“Talk to your fiancé,” Simon said. “If she is interested in replacing her lawyers, we’ll take this case on. Taking down Randall Scott would be a sweet, sweet day.”

Daniel stretched out his long legs. “Yes, it would.”

“Go get your girl, sunshine,” Hunter said.

He jumped up, grabbed his jacket and phone, then started for the door.

“I owe you a shirt,” Blake reminded Daniel.

“Fuck the shirt. You owe me a bottle of Macallan.”

He smirked and strode to the elevators.

It was time to tell Bella he was in love with her. If she thought Cain was the right man for her, she was wrong. Blake intended to show her, not just with his cock, but his words and his heart.

Because he was a fucking Dufort.

And Dufort’s always won.

Even the girl.

BLAKE WALKED INTO THEelevator and Hunter slid his hand inside just before it closed.

“Let me give you a ride,” Hunter offered. “My driver is downstairs.”

They made small talk on the way to the Dufort Hotel and then, as the car slowed, his cousin said, “Good luck.”

“She’s mine,” Blake said, determination and possession rich in his voice.

“Is she? Emotions are different from bodies,” Hunter said, and his words stopped Blake as he reached for the door handle. Blake turned and met his cousin’s gaze. “You can demand dominance from a woman’s body, but not from her heart.”
