Yeah, this was a mind fuck.

Blake wasn’t agreeing to a single thing unless he knew this was all watertight.

“Do you have a copy of the trust and your mom’s will?” Blake asked.

“Yes, my lawyer has everything.”

Was he really entertaining the idea of marrying to save his company?

And keep Bella for yourself.

“Do you intend for this to be just a business arrangement?” he asked as she stifled another yawn with her hand.

“Arranged marriages have been around for a very long time,” Bella said. “But if you’re asking, do I expect you to sleep with me, the answer is no.”

Blake glanced across the room.

He wasn’t asking that.

If he agreed, shewould befucking him. Every damn night if he had his way.

But her wording confirmed his decision.

Expect. She hadn’t firmly said no. Which meant that she was open to a sexual relationship with a potential business partner, and if it wasn’t him, it would be someone else.

Which made sense if it had to be two years. She was a sexual woman. Bella thrived under his praise and touch.

His jaw twitched.

Whoever agreed to marry Bella would benefit greatly from this deal. Financially. But they’d also have her. And he was not okay with that. Bella was out of her depth here and open to being taken advantage of.

By another man.

Marrying him. Kissing him. Fucking him.

And it was a firm NO.

Call him a hero, but Blake was starting to think he had to do this.

Two years. He hadn’t been planning to marry until he was well into his thirties, so given he was twenty-five, he had time.

He’d get to watch Randall Scott walk the plank, so to speak. Save his business. And, because he was such a fucking savior, ensure no asshole took advantage of Bella and got their hands on her.

She would be his.

In two years, he could sign the divorce papers and walk away with a thriving business.

A win-win.

No one in his family needed to know it wasn’t a legitimate marriage and it would save him from being the first Dufort to fail and publicly shame the family.

“Let’s say I agree, wh—”

“I’m having a contract drawn up,” Bella interrupted. “It will answer everything.”

Yes, but he had stipulations of his own he wanted noted. This might be business, but he was highly attracted to this woman, and that wasn’t changing.

Nor did he want it to.
