Page 8 of His to Ruin

He takes a step back looking at me inquisitively then turns to his friend as if to say can you believe this chick.

I get the feeling that girls do whatever he says, probably falling at his feet with obedience.

Not wanting to provoke this guy any further I turn to his friend who by the way still hasn’t opened his mouth yet to say anything. How is it even possible he’s even better looking than the smaller guy? His hair is jet-black and styled to perfection in a taper fade mohawk that gradually fades on the sides. His lips are full and has a strong jaw that I’m sure plenty of girls have kissed their way around. I can’t see his eyes clearly because there hidden behind his sunglasses but I imagine there as blue as the ocean, and dangerous enough that they could pull you under. My assessing eyes must give me away that I’m checking him out as just then he gives me a knowing smirk that highlights two dimples making them pop. Those dimples could stop you dead in your tracks. I try so hard not to let my eyes stray further down.

Don’t look down, don’t look down, look only at his face I try to tell myself but there appears to have been some sort of neuro malfunction transmitting that to my stupid brain because the synapses clearly didn’t get the message when I do the opposite. It’s not like neither of them give me the same courtesy, blatantly eye fucking me right in front of my mom.

His heavily tattooed skin glistens with sweat. I bite my bottom lip watching small beads slowly ripple from his tanned tattooed chest all the way down to his impressive tight abdominal muscles. I quickly look away. He’s young to have so many tattoos but its sexy as all hell on him. Shit, why am I still checking this guy out? What’s come over me? Heat stroke, ha, that’s it. I have heat stroke. It’s been so long since any guy has had this effect on me. Focus Jordin!!

I was afraid to even look in another guy’s direction in front of Max and if he were here and seen the way these two guys were just checking out my body, well I don’t even want to think about what would have happened. Although something tells me these two would have given Max a damn good run for his money. I mean they clearly work out but there’s something else, I can’t put my finger on it exactly but they both have a vibe of danger about them. The smaller guy is obviously the quick tempered mouthy one but it’s the silent ones you need to watch out for. He has the mark of a true alpha and the type of guy I should stay far away from. Which is exactly what I intend to do.

“We haven’t got all fucking day,” the smaller guy says, sounding bored with my stand-off.

I open my mouth to tell this asshole to take his ball and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine when mom stops me before the words come out of my mouth.

“We need to go and get another cold compress on this. The heats melting the ice too quickly in this heat and she’s going to have some bruise if we don’t.”

I turn around to see her helping Millie to stand, wiping away any sand that had stuck to her dress and legs. Poor Millie is still sobbing her little heart out holding her arm close to her chest.

“Okay,” I reply calmly as I turn back to the two guys still holding out for their ball. They had their chance to apologise, they didn’t take it.

“You want your ball?” I say with a big smile across my face. “Then go and fucking get it,” I shout kicking their ball with as much power as I can muster landing it straight into the sea with a splash.

“For fucks sake,” the smaller guy grumbles running after the ball before it goes out to sea. The big guy stays rooted in place watching his friend run off to retrieve it before it floats further out to sea.

“You’re going to regret that, princess,“ he warns sternly in a deep gravelly voice before turning around and walking back towards the crowd.

After we quickly gather all our belongings we walk back to the car. Just as we reach the steps to the parking bay I get the feeling that I'm being watched. I turn my head back towards the crowded beach. That’s when I spot him leaning on the hood of a sports car with a large crowd of people. He’s watching me with an intensity that burns into my soul making me shudder. For a split second I regret throwing his ball into the water because the way he's watching me right now, tells me that he meant every word of what he just said. That I was going to regret it. Lucky for me I won’t ever see either of them again for him to carry out his threat. With that in mind, I smirk and give him a little sarcastic wave before turning my back to him without giving it another thought.

Chapter Seven

Jordin

“Dadwantstosayhi,” mom says handing me the phone.

“Hi dad.”

“Hey sweetie. How are you? I miss my three girls so much. Tell me everything. How you are liking the new house? What you think of the town, lay it all on me. I have been dying to hear what you guys think.”

“One thing at a time dad,” I laugh into the receiver. “But yeah, I guess it’s okay here.” I say with honesty. “And the house is pretty cool, although a swimming pool this time round would have been nice.”

He gives me a full belly laugh that goes straight to my heart. I’ve missed him so much these last few days.

“Good, I’m so glad you like it sweetheart.”

“So far so good. Anyway, how’s things at work? Did you win yet?” I ask excitedly.

He chuckles into the receiver.

“Not yet, but soon I promise.”

“What happened dad? I thought that the case you were working on would have been over by now.”

“So did I honey, but a new witness has come out of the woodwork that I need to squash like a bug. It’s held up the proceedings a little, but the jury should reach a verdict real soon. Then I’ll be straight there I promise. Now tell me everything I’ve missed; I want to hear all about it.”

I spend the next twenty minutes telling dad all about the house, my new room, and our plans to go shopping and get some new clothes for starting school before Millie barges into my room demanding to speak to him.

I know how much she misses him, so I say my goodbyes then hand her the phone and get ready to go. It is still hot as all hell outside so I pick out a cute little blue sun dress and slip on my white converse. This time I don’t forgo the make-up, but I keep it light and natural looking.
