‘Can you help me find something to wear for the auction tomorrow?’
‘You want me to take you shopping? To look sexy?’
‘Whatever it takes to get you what you need from the night.’
She chewed at her bottom lip for a moment. ‘I’ve got a lot I need to do tomorrow.’
‘We can go early, and then I can be on call all day to do whatever you need.’
The tip of her head let me know she’d caved.
‘Alright. Meet me at nine.’
CHAPTERFIFTEEN
EVA
Shopping with Amor hadn’t been something I’d intended to do, but despite my misgivings, I was having fun.
We were in store number three. I waited outside the men’s changing room as he showed me different outfits. He looked far too damn good in all of them. Knowing him for only a few days belied the torrent of emotions he wrought in me. I’d expected to have awkward, stilting sex with him after our arrangement, but his touch made me go giddy. His mouth made my head swim, and even going down on him had been satisfying. And when he got so filled with desire that he got a little rougher with me? Damn. I was a goner.
Such a shame that it all had to end when he went home.
For the best, though.

‘Okay, so you like the dark jeans, but what about this shirt?’ Amor said as he came out from behind the curtain. It skimmed his toned torso perfectly, highlighting his muscles.
‘It’s great,’ I said, standing and moving over to him. ‘Just need to roll up the sleeves like this. And unbutton the top two buttons.’
My fingers trembled, feeling his pulse as I undid the buttons.
‘Why the rolled-up sleeves?’ he asked as I adjusted them.
‘It’s hot. It shows the muscles and tendons in your forearms, and your tattoos peek out.’
‘And women like that?’
‘Yes.’
‘Andyoulike that?’
I smiled and nodded. ‘Yes.’
‘Then that’s what I’ll do.’
‘It’s not me who you need to charm,’ I said. I didn’t want to get attached, but the idea of auctioning him off to someone else wasn’t exactly feeling all warm and fuzzy in my stomach.
Chin up, Eva.
It was only ever meant to be a few days to blow the cobwebs away.
His fingers moved to my jaw, tipping my face up to his, and I absolutely melted. ‘It’s you I want to charm, Eva.’
A giddy jolt stormed through my body.
Amor leaned close and grazed his lips over mine, making me shiver. A devilish smirk crossed his face as he grabbed my hand and pulled me into the changing room, pressing me into a stall and closing the curtain.
