“We need to find him. Now, Raven.”

“They have him,” Raven whispered. “Goddammit.”

“Who has him?” I asked, looking between them. “Tell me.”

“The Dirty Death MC. Undertaker.”

“No.” I shook my head, refusing to believe it. But it had to be true. Talon’s pain leaked through our bond again, sinking through my chest and forming an ache around my heart. “He’s injured. It’s bad.”

“We’re leaving,” Crow announced. He stood and moved toward me, sliding an arm around my shoulders. “We’ll find him. I promise.”

Within fifteen minutes, we were on the road, heading toward The Roost. Crow decided to drop me off first before he left to search for Talon. Raven agreed.

I wanted to look for Talon now. Neither man budged.

Fatigue set in during the journey, and I had to fight to stay awake and keep my hold around my brother’s waist. Crow tapped my leg more than once to wake me up. Those were the longest hours of my life.

It was nearly dawn when we rode through the gates and arrived at the Devil’s Murder compound. I could barely stay awake when Crow parked his bike. At least it was close to a door. I stumbled as I stood and lifted off the helmet, handing it to my brother.

He hung it from the handlebars, giving me a funny look.

“You’re not gonna make it, little sister.”

“That’s because my ass is draggin’, big brother.”

He laughed and then scooped me up, entering through the door as Raven held it open.

Only a few members were awake at this hour. A bartender who wore a prospect patch. Two older guys with graying beards were seated at the bar. And an older man with an oxygen tank next to his side. A tube connected to the tank, but he wasn’t wearing a nasal cannula. He sipped on black coffee and greeted us with a wave.

“What ya got there, Crow? Looks like a little Rook.”

Crow grinned. “The only woman I would ever carry around besides my Bella.”

“Ah, this must be your sister.”

“I’m Gail.” I yawned. “Hi.”

He shooed us away. “I’m Lucky Lou. We’ll be talkin’ later. Go get some rest.”

Crow ticked his chin at Lou and took the stairs, walking up to a third floor. “When I learned about you, I converted this part of the clubhouse into an apartment. It’s a home away from home, so you always have a place to stay when you visit me.”

“You did?”

“Yeah.” He cleared his throat. “I guess you’ll stay with Talon instead.”

I frowned, looking around at the décor. . .in shades of gray, white, and black. Modern but still feminine with splashes of color and floral accents. How did he know?

“I love it. Talon can stay here with me.”

My brother gave me a squeeze and beamed a grin, placing me on the couch. “There’s a bedroom with a walk-in closet, kitchen, living room, and a bathroom. All yours.”

I reached over and kissed his cheek. “You’re the best, Austin.”

He looked happy. “Get some rest.”

“I’ll try.”

“Do or do not. There is no try.”
