I used my hand to push his hand away, ready to use magic to heal his headache, but Levi grabbed my hand.
“We’re still in the Crawford Pack.You can’t use magic.”He warned.“The reason your parents aren’t here is because they’re having to write a detailed report on why they used so much magic in Mac Tire City.”
I looked his way, interested to know more about what was going on.
Levi smirked and then started nagging.“You want to know more?Then lay back, you’re straining your body sitting this way.Do you know how much weight you lost during the time you were gone?Your parents are going to feed you until you’re as chubby as a jiggly little sheep after this.Of course, you’ll still be a cute little sheep.Don’t worry, I won’t despise you even if you’re chubbier.It’ll be like that time when you suddenly gained weight when you were twelve.You were a beautiful, plump little lamb, and I still carried you around, didn’t I?”
While laying back, I punched him in his rock-hard abdomen, glaring at him and wishing I could plug his mouth closed before turning to Aiden and patting the space beside me for him to lie beside me.
“You want me to lie on the hospital bed with you?But wouldn’t that make you uncomfortable?”He interpreted.
I shook my head and patted the space beside me again.The bed wasn’t big, but it was a twin bed and if I laid partially on Levi, the three of us could squeeze on it.
Not wanting Levi to feel left out, I patted the space on my other side, gesturing for him to get on the bed.
Instantly, he grinned and leaned down to take off his shoes before climbing onto the bed in his socks, followed closely by Aiden.
We were laying together in such a way that Aiden was laying his head on my collarbone.This way, I could comb my fingers through his hair and get him to sleep.
From the bags under his eyes and how weary he looked, I could tell he was exhausted.
While doing this, I turned to Levi, writing on his palms the way I used to when I was younger.“What happened?”
“Many things happened.Where do you want me to start?”He asked, pressing his nose to my hair and breathing in deeply like I’d just washed it with my favorite shampoo and it wasn’t in its greasiest state from the period of my imprisonment.
I glanced at Aiden from the corner of my eyes.After seeing that his eyes were closed, I wrote a question in Levi’s hand, “Everyone?”
“Your mom and Aisling are with Alpha Owen.Doyle took Nyra back to the Supernatural Council.Mateo went with him to leave a statement in the Supernatural Council, and Caden just left a while ago.They left both of us to watch over you, I guess.”
I reached for his hand and wrote, “Phone?”
Rather than writing out single-word questions on his palm, I wanted to ask more specific questions, so I wanted my phone.
“Your phone is nowhere to be found.My battery is low, and I left my charger at home.Just keep writing on my palm.I’ll answer all your questions.”He said with a smirk.
I narrowed my eyes at him, aware that the true reason for his phone’s sudden low battery was his desire for me to keep writing on his palm.
Feigning innocence, he asked, “What?”
I turned to Aiden with my back to him, staring at Aiden’s sleeping face and realizing that I was a little sleepy.
Before I could turn back toward Levi, he wrapped his hand around my waist saying in a gentle cuddling tone that he used whenever I was sick, “Okay, sleep.Even if Amelia healed you, the Wolfsbane still injured your body.If not for your mother’s healing, you would need to stay in the hospital for a few months to recuperate.”
He was silent for a moment before saying, “I was so worried.I thought I was going to lose you for sure.I really don’t think I can live without you.It seemed like everywhere was gloomy while you were gone.If you decide to be the next Alpha of the Woodburn Pack, you’re going to have to hire a vampire pack enforcer because I’m going wherever you go.”
I sighed, staring at the single acne beside Aiden’s nose before reaching out to rub out the furrow in his brows.Despite my last discussion with Daddy Keane to determine what I wanted to do with my life, I still wasn’t very sure.But even if I became the next Alpha of the Woodburn Pack, I would never let Levi quit his position in the Supernatural Council to be a vampire pack enforcer.
Of course, I couldn’t speak now, so I turned to him, placed my hand on the back of his head to pull his face closer, and kissed him.It was a slow, sensual, and leisurely kiss, but when he saw that things were getting intense, he pulled back.
Kissing me on the forehead, he said, “Rest.Everything else can wait until you’re fully healed.”
I pecked his lips and said in a croaky voice, “I love you.”
“I love you too, Aurora.Now rest.”
I sighed and then turned to face Aiden, pushing my head over his shoulder, pressing my nose to his neck and allowing his sour passion fruit scent to lull me to sleep.
