None of that even entered my mind. It was all about capturing a feeling that only Dawson inspired.

Ever since we’d committed to each other, not a day went by that I didn’t know or feel how much I was loved.

I always thought a romantic relationship meant heartache and pain and losing a part of yourself.

No doubt there would be ups and downs for us down the line.

Nothing was ever constant.

But Dawson had shown me that, with the right partner, you could be a better, stronger, brighter version of yourself. I was happy and whole before we became lovers, but my life now was so much richer, and none of it had to do with money.

Even if I lost all my fame and fortune overnight, I knew I’d still wake up smiling if I woke up next to him.

And while I sang in front of thousands of fans about running away from my feelings and finally coming full circle, I felt the weight of the gold ring in my pocket.

I’d bought the ring a month ago, and I was searching for the right time to pop the question. I’d already asked his family for their blessing.

And now I didn’t want to wait any longer to make that man officially mine.

But unlike my very public declaration of my love on stage, my proposal to Dawson would be private.

Just the two of us.

The hotel room was ready. The champagne was ordered.

I glanced over at the wings where Dawson stood and saw him wiping tears from his face. I smiled and sang the words I’d had etched on his ring.

Always, I run to you.

EPILOGUE

IAIN

TWO YEARS LATER

“Stop pacing, sweetheart.”

“I can’t help it,” I replied as I pulled on the tie I was wearing.

I hated it. Anything formal made my skin itch. This suit wasn’t helping either. But I knew that today, of all days, I had to look polished.

“This is a huge deal. The biggest day of our lives.”

“It’ll all work out. Just breathe,” Dawson encouraged as he pulled me into his arms.

I looked up into his eyes, and all I saw was his devotion.

This beautiful man was all mine.

How the fuck had I gotten so lucky?

“How do you know for sure? What if?—"

“Iain, this is us,” Dawson whispered. “This is it. We’re ready.”

I was. I knew it. I just wanted everything to go smoothly.

A tap on my back had me turning around. Jaxon was there, looking sharp in a navy blue suit we’d had made for him for this occasion. He was smiling up at me.
