“Bad news for me,” I rumbled, before kissing her gently. When I started to pull out of her, she hooked her legs around my ass and held on tight.

“Stay inside me. I’m not ready to lose you.”

“You’ll never lose me, Sweetheart. I love you.” I kissed her again, just as softly.

“I love you too.” Her face was calm, her eyes happy. “I just want you inside me.”

“Well, you can have that any damn time you want.” I tucked my wings in tightly, grabbed her thighs, and rolled her over smoothly, earning a noise of protest that made me grin.

Despite her complaint, she pulled her legs out from beneath me and snuggled against me. I held her securely in my arms, infinitely glad I got to call her mine.

“I’m going to pay you back for the business loans,” she murmured.

“Then I’m going to buy you a sports car with the money. The fanciest one they make.”

“Zander!”

“Miles!” I mimicked her tone.

She huffed, but didn’t budge from my chest. My cock was still hard inside her, but I didn’t think the bastard was going to soften any time soon.

“This conversation is not over,” she said.

“I’m yours. My money is yours too. Buy yourself a bunch more coffee shops if you want. Turn it into an empire.”

“Even starting this many is risky. I don’t think—” she began, but cut herself off when I squeezed her ass lightly. “Don’t try to make me horny again.” Her warning was weak.

“I trust you. You wouldn’t have done it if you weren’t pretty damn confident you could make it work. Sometimes, making money requires a little risk. I’m happy to foot the bill. You’ll make it back, and then some. And if you don’t, it’s not the end of the world for us.”

She was silent for a moment.

Her cheeks were red when I looked down to make sure she was okay. “Thanks for believing in me,” she finally said, her voice soft.

“It’s a damn pleasure.” I kissed the top of her head.

“It’ll take me a while to come around completely to the idea of merging our finances, even if you’re bringing a lot more to the table than me,” she admitted.

“That’s fine. There’s no rush.”

She grew quieter as she added, “It’ll take me a while to come around to the idea of being safe again, too. Evan’s been around for so long.”

“I know. We’ll figure it out together, Sweetheart.” I kissed the top of her head again. “Are you sad he’s gone?”

She shook her head against me. “No. Definitely not sad. Not happy either, though. It’s weird. I’m just kind of neutral.”

“Neutral is good. Hell, neutral is probably best.”

“I hope so.” She lifted one of my hands to rest on the side of her face, closing her eyes. “I think I’m going to take a nap. Any idea what time it is?”

“Not a clue.”

She laughed softly, and I couldn’t prevent the smile that crept onto my face in response.

Miley was so damn beautiful.

“I love you,” she whispered.

“I love you too.” I kissed the top of her head. “More than anything, Sweetheart.”
