“Just being thorough.” I strode out of the bathroom without letting myself look back at the glorious, glorious tub.

“As I was saying, this room would be the most comfortable for you, unless you’re looking to climb in bed with me.” He opened the door for one of the rooms I’d already looked at. “It’s bigger than the other two, and has its own bathroom.”

A bathroomwithouta tub.

We would need to draw up a contract about sharing that tub.

He showed me his stockpile of blood—it was almost as impressive as mine—before we got back in his truck and drove to the apartment complex. He made a show of giving me a tour of his apartments, even though their floorplans were the same as my own, and winked at me when I rolled my eyes at his antics.

We went back to my apartment after his tour, and when he immediately started thawing a few more blood bags, my stomach clenched.

I was hungry, but more than that, I didn’t want to watch my blood stash shrink.

“We’ll merge the stockpile when we decide where we’re living,” Zander said, noticing the stricken look in my eyes. “If you really don’t want to touch the bags, my neck is always open.” He tapped the side of his throat like he had the night before, and I couldn’t stop my eyes from narrowing in on it.

His scent filled the room, vibrant and delicious.

I swallowed roughly. “I would need to write out the pros and cons before considering it.”

He nodded, not seeming to have a problem with my list-obsession.

“Your lust is a con. A big con,” I said, just to clarify.

“My lust is sated right now.”

“You told me you don’t know if you’ll be able to resist feeding from me if I bite you,” I reminded him. “The last thing we need is to get you addicted to me too right now.”

“Would it really be so bad?”

I scowled. “Yes.”

His lips curved upward slightly. “For the sake of your health, I’ll resist. Assuming you do decide to bite me.”

My eyes dipped back to his throat.

I swear, I could almostfeelhis heart beating.

His blood rushing, calling me toward him.

My fangs descended, and I swallowed again.

He smelled too damn good.

I wasn’t going to be able to resist feeding from him for long if we were living together.

“Tell me about Evan,” Zander said, and my gaze jerked to his. “You look like you need a distraction.”

“I don’t talk about Evan.” I hadn’t even told Brynn and Tatum everything that had happened between us. It was way too intimate.

“His text yesterday makes that an impossibility, Miles.”

I sighed. “Like I told you in the coffee shop, he won’t leave me alone.”

“He’s stalking you.” Zander grabbed a glass from my cupboard and a blood bag from my sink.

“I prefer to think that I’m ignoring him.” I watched his hands as he emptied the blood into the cup, and my fangs throbbed.

“You don’t like having no control over him.”
