“Should I ask how old you are?” I wondered.

He grinned. “Probably better not to.”

My lips curved upward.

His hand slid slowly over my stomach, dragging my shirt up to my bra line so he could touch my bare abdomen. My body clenched, but it felt so good I didn’t dare ask him to stop. “Tell me something I don’t know about you.”

I stared up at the ceiling.

There were a lot of things I hadn’t told him about. Things about my family. My degree. My childhood. My college years.

“What do you know that I haven’t told you myself?” I asked, instead of going with something random.

“Only the things I’ve heard from Tatum about your business. She’s been close-lipped about you when I probe.”

“She knew we were potential mates the first day you dropped off an ice chest full of blood for me,” I said. “She thought I realized something was up, so she didn’t say anything. I’m not sure if I wish she had or not.”

“You would’ve avoided me with fury.”

I smiled, warm because of the way he was touching me. “Probably.”

“You haven’t given me your random fact yet.”

I could’ve told him about my family.

I could’ve admitted the shit I’d been through.

It could’ve bonded us, and made me trust him more.

But telling the truth was… difficult.

So I started with, “I prefer my eggs cooked hard.”

He blinked. “I’ve been making you runny eggs for weeks, Miles.”

“I was mad at you.”

“And so damn stubborn you didn’t even tell me how you wanted your eggs? We’ve got to work on that.”

“I’ll add it to the list. Smoother disagreements, and honesty about food even when the disagreements aren’t smooth,” I said.

“Don’t forget the bit about not stalking each other anymore.”

I snorted. “Good point.” There was a moment’s silence before I asked, “Do you know about our shops expanding?”

“No.”

“I’m opening a few new locations over the next six months. I think it’ll turn out well.”

“Damn, look at you go.” He squeezed me lightly, and my lips curved upward. When he asked for more details, I answered all of his questions. And when he ran out of questions, I felt a hell of a lot closer to him.

He kissed my forehead again when that conversation ended, still moving his fingers over my abdomen. “You know I can see your lust, right? I don’t know if that qualifies as a secret.”

“It’s not a secret. Tatum told me that bit. Random facts we don’t know about each other are inevitable.”

He nodded. “Just making sure.”

“She said something about your wings and tails being erogenous, once. Can you show me?”
