“We brought too much champagne,” Bash grumbled from the kitchen.

“Shh. We’re being happy,” Brynn shushed him, poking her head up above the couch to send him a glare.

I snorted yet again, and Tatum pulled her back down.

The movie started, and we all snuggled in.

Popcorn appeared, and we devoured it.

The guys chatted in the kitchen while we watched and snacked. I could hear one of them chuckle every now and then, so I thought that for once, they weren’t talking business.

That made me happy.

My buzz fadedduring the movie. Brynn fell asleep on the couch as the couple found their happily-ever-after, and snored loudly.

Tatum flashed me a grin over her head, and I returned it. “Going to call it a night,” she whispered. “Sleep well, and congrats.”

“Thank you,” I whispered back.

She slipped off the couch while the credits played, and I leaned my head back against the cushions. Brynn was draped over me, still snoring like mad, and I didn’t want to wake her up.

Plus, I was kind of… nervous.

Zander and I were mated. Did that change anything?

It felt like it would probably change something.

But I didn’t want anything to change.

And change scared the shit out of me.

So, basically, I had no idea what was going to happen when I got off the couch.

I heard Tatum and Rafael wish Zander and Bash a good night, followed by their footsteps getting further away.

Squeezing my eyes shut, I let out a long breath.

“I’m going to put her in her bed,” Bash said, and my eyes jerked open. When I nodded, he nodded back. “Welcome to the family, Miles.”

My throat swelled again, annoyingly.

He picked Brynn up more carefully than I would’ve expected, not seeming bothered by the way her arms and face draped over his shoulder while her legs sprawled out at random. His expression was almost… soft… as he carried her away.

Though I liked and trusted Bash, I followed him down the hallway out of obligation to my adorably drunk, human friend. I watched in the doorway as he set her down on the bed carefully, and as he turned the lock on the door on his way out.

When I moved out of the way, he checked it to make sure it was locked, before nodding at me again. “That one’s yours.” He gestured to a door across from Brynn’s, then strode out of the hall, headed to a room I’d noticed on the opposite side of the cabin.

Zander was leaned up against the wall in the hallway when Bash was gone, his lips curved upward and his gaze moving slowly over me. “Hey, Sweetheart.”

My face warmed. “Hey.”

We hadn’t talked about sharing a room.

Or sharing a bed.

Or—

“There are only four bedrooms. They all have their own bathroom, and they’re all big, but you’ll either have to share with me or Brynn,” he said, still smiling faintly.
