Except your mom didn’t sleep with her twin sister’s boyfriend and get pregnant.

KATIE

We did.

MORGAN

Tell Jackson to cool his jets. If we’re all in the Caribbean for the next couple of months, then he won’t be available to buy a house anyway.

I laughed. Morgan was right. I could get Jackson to wait since we were both looking forward to our trip with Morgan and Charlotte. I was excited to get to know her better, especially since Jackson told me she was pregnant, too. She and I could figure this stuff out together.

Once on the plane, I disappeared into the bedroom. I was so exhausted. Liam said it was most likely normal, but I needed to discuss it with my OB just to be safe.

Luckily, we had an appointment with her later today. I was excited to be checked out and ask all the questions that Jackson and I both had. Then, before heading to the house, we had to pick up the last of the Christmas presents since Jackson’s family opened the bulk of their gifts on Christmas Eve before attending Midnight Mass.

I’d never done either and was nervous but excited all the same. It was my first big family holiday, and I was spending it with this incredible man who understood me better than I did myself most days.

I felt the bed dip, and I rolled over into Jackson’s arms, cuddling into his chest.

“You okay?” he asked.

“Just tired.” The words were drawn out and almost unrecognizable due to a yawn that caught me by surprise.

Jackson chuckled. “Then nap. We have a busy day when we land.”

“Who’s going to the doctor with us?” I asked.

“Lucia will be in the medical building with us, and the others will be with the car and the exits,” Jackson said.

“I know you think I’m being ridiculous, but…”

Jackson scoffed, “And you’d be wrong. I love you, and if you want to wait to tell the family, then we will wait to tell the family.”

When I woke up on Christmas Eve morning, excitement seemed to buzz through the air. Jackson said he would be spending some time with Anthony and Evan shopping for Ava and Olivia’s Christmas gifts. I teased him about shopping for my gift, and he just smirked.

The jerk had probably already gotten my gift, and I hadn’t found anything I wanted to get him. I thought about getting him a new pair of boots, but when I made comments about the ones he wore, he said they were perfect.

Once he and the guys left, I searched the house for Ava and Olivia but ended up finding Declan and Hayden. They were sitting next to one another on the large sectional in the media room, playing video games. Marcie was curled up with a book in the corner of the couch.

Those three were always in each other’s pocket. I hadn’t brought the subject up with Marcie because…well, I didn’t know how to broach the subject with her. I could barely keep up with Jackson, and she seemed to be keeping up with two men.

The evil little witch that lived in the recesses of my mind giggled.

Maybe you should ask for tips?

Even though the words hadn’t escaped my mouth, I blushed. Fast and furious.

“Hey, Katie,” Marcie said, startling me.

“Hey. Have you guys seen Ava and Olivia?” I asked.

Marcie and Declan shook their heads, but Hayden replied without even looking away from the game. “They went to your dad’s.”

All the air went out of my sails, and I dropped onto the arm of the chair next to me. “Oh. Umm, well, okay then.”

I didn’t know what else to say. I knew Marion and Conrad were still together, even though they had pushed off the wedding fora bit, but I’d stuck my head in the sand and ignored the fact Conrad existed since learning about all the lies and deceit.

“Hayden…” Marcie chastised.
