“Run!” Cade shouts, and they don’t ask why. They turn and run out of the door, and me and the kids take off after them. They run around onto the grass and pretend to trip while Storm jumps on Viking and Tray dives on Blade. Priest gets on his knees and surrenders, holding his hands out, and River runs right past him, going after Dice.

Once they're all restrained, the kids sit on them. River says, “Mummy, do we need Grandad, Uncle Tank and Uncle Dane to help us take the idiots to your office?” I run my hands down my face and shake my head. This is my life now.

“Tell you what, kids, you can deal with them right here. How about that?”

“Typewriter!” Storm yells, and the rest of the guys come to stand beside me as Blade, Viking, and Dice receive their punishments.

“Looks vicious!” Priest slides his arms around me. “Maybe you should implement it in the office!”

I dig him in the ribs as he kisses my neck.

“What are you doing to my husband?” Dane’s voice rings out from behind the guys.”

“Argh Run. It's the monster!” Storm shouts, and they all tear up the field as fast as their little legs will carry them while Dane chases them all. He throws Tray over one shoulder and grabs Storm by the back of her jeans, lifting her off the floor and running after River, making stupid monster noises while Dice comes to join me.

“Fuck, I think if I had ovaries, they’d be clanging right about now.”

“No! No more kids in this fucking club, it took me years to control most of you, some I’ve given up on!” Ares glares at me, and I smile at him. “But those three are fucking feral.” He shakes his head, drops to his knees, and clasps his hands together in front of Dice. “Please, Brother. I beg of you. No more!”

I punch him in the shoulder. “You’re such a fucking dick.”

We stay out there and watch the kids run around, and I fucking love my life. I am happy; in a way, it was a hard road to get here, but now, at this moment, I’m lucky to still be here, even though I thought I would die without half of my old heart. I've gained half a new one. I’m lucky to be so loved.

THE END
