“She’s not lost, Dice, we know exactly where she is.”

“What the fuck? Why won’t you tell him? Us? Why won’t you tell us?”

“Not my call, Dice. She doesn’t want to be found.”

“Is she okay?”

“No.”

“And you’re gonna leave her out there alone, not okay?”

“It’s what she wants.”

“Dane, please. She needs us; she might not know it, but she does. She needs us all. We have to help her.”

“Dice, don’t, it’s not my call.”

“Dane?”

“Dice, don’t. I don’t have to like it; I just have to support her.”

“Dane?”

He glares at me briefly, then heads into the kitchen. “Okay, what do you want for breakfast?”

“Seriously?”

“Yeah, seriously. I’ll make you whatever you want.”

“No, seriously, you’re just gonna change the subject and not even tell us where Ray is? Dane, she was in a fucking state when we all saw her last.”

My phone bings with a text, and when I look down, it’s from Ares.

Pres: Church, thirty minutes.

“Fuck!”

Ares

“So, boys, the shit has hit the metaphorical fan. Viking’s been informed that Roach is the one behind Ray's injuries. We don't think he kidnapped her alone, and we don't know why, but all the information we have relating to her injuries he caused them all.” There's uproar as people start shouting over each other.

“That fucking snake.”

“She had that kid’s back; this is how he repays her?”

“I’ll kill the fucking bastard.”

“Cunt!”

“Guys, guys, calm down. This isn't getting us anywhere. Dice, what do you have for us?”

“Honestly, Pres, not much. Dane’s back, and he won’t help; some kind of fucked-up loyalty thing to Ray. They know where she is but won't tell us. He did take me up to the barn to prove Roach wasn't in the office. It’s empty. Dane said he looped the cameras, and they came and got Roach within twenty-four hours. They say he's alive, but that's all they'll say. They’re ‘questioning’ him!”

“Who the fuck’s this ‘they’ you keep referring to?” Tatts butts in.

“The Armoury.” Ares shakes his head. “The Armoury have Roach. Fuck, we’re gonna get nothing from him, then that’s useless. What else have we found?”

Dice cuts in again, “There was a guy that Ray killed before she came here. His identity was stolen, and whoever was pretending to be this Tim guy arrived in the country before Ray even killed the real guy. He got married, and he was the limo driver, and his wife was the girl who pretended to be Ray to frame Steel. The ‘infidelity’ in prison was also a set-up.”
