“Clearly,” Steel deadpans.

“So, what do we know?” I ask as the room falls silent. “So, fucking nothing, then?”

“Well, if someone got his boyfriend’s dick out of his ass and cracked on with the surveillance footage, maybe we could find a lead,” Steel snipes at Dice.

“Maybe if you didn’t put your dick in someone else, she would be fucking here now,” he spits back, and they both push from the chairs and have to be restrained from punching each other.

“Guys, this isn't helping. We could all take part of the blame for why she isn't here. We all let her down. Dice, do you think you could have another look?”

“Yeah, there's still some stuff to go through. Tank, could you take Dane back to his dad’s to grab his stuff? He's moving back in.”

“Sure. We done here?”

“Yeah, Tank, we're done.”

I sigh and drop into my chair as I bang the gavel. “Right, everyone, fuck off. Let me know if you see, hear or fucking smell anything.”

The remaining Psycho Six, Dozer, Steel and myself stay behind.

“Tank, see if you can find anything out. You and Dozer are the only ones they like. Sweet talk them, whatever the fuck it takes, just find something. Dice, you’re back in with Dane. Use that to find whatever you can—”

“No!”

“What the fuck, Dice?”

“I’ll find what I can, Pres, but I’m not using my relationship with Dane to exploit him. I've only just got him back. I'm not losing him again.”

“Dice, this is Ray.”

“Yeah, and if we ever do get her back and she finds out I used him, she'll kill me anyway. So I will find what I can on my own, and I will ask for help, but that's it. I’m not using our relationship against him. Final answer!”

He rises from his chair. “Thanks for taking Dane. Tank, tell him to come get me from the tech room when he's back!”

Dice strides out of the room and heads to the tech room.

“I'm going to look for her.” Steel stands.

“And where the fuck you gonna start? She could be anywhere.”

“North, she’s gone north.”

“Steel, how the fuck do you even know that?” I bark at him as he’s being fucking ridiculous.

“When she filed for divorce, she did it as far south as she could, to get me as far away from her as possible. She’ll stay remote but somewhere near the coast, it's less obvious you don't belong. Coastlines always attract strangers. Tourists.”

“That’s your whole fucking theory? ‘She’ll go north because she sent me south?’ Steel, do you know how fucking stupid you sound?”

He shrugs. “Maybe, but fuck, it beats hanging around here just fucking waiting. I need to look into where I’m gonna search, so I’ll be around for the rest of the week, then I’m going to find my wife.”

“Fucking hell, everyone’s gone mental.”

“Dozer, do you think Beauty will call in at Scar’s? She’s still staying at the law office.”

“Seriously?” He shakes his head. “After what she fucking pulled last time?”

“Fucking hell Dozer. I can’t right now, just ask. We can be butthurt and jealous all we fucking like once we have Ray back. Until then, I’m choosing to see it as an error in judgement on both sides. So just drop it, yeah? I’ve got enough to contend with. Scar’s working fucking stupid hours, she’s not eating, she’s a right state, and all I can do is try and get her sister back, our sister back. Please, guys, this club is falling apart without her. It’s like a hand grenade went off, and I’ve been given a fucking paintbrush to clean it all up with, so please help me?”

They all clap me on the shoulder and assure me they’ve got my back, but fuck, she’s like water seeping into a crack in a rock, freezing, expanding, and smashing the fucking rock. How the fuck am I supposed to keep all those goddamned pieces together?
