Chastened, I backpedaled. “You’re right, I meant no offense. I only wish to experience as much of your culture as I can. We can talk more about this after my riding lessons.”

Kian gave a curt nod, still looking troubled. I thanked him again for agreeing to teach me, frustration simmering beneath the surface. I had to remind myself to be patient. Change takes time. And I sensed a softer side to Kian hidden below his stoic exterior. Perhaps in time, he would come to see me as more than just a perplexing outsider.

Sitting by the fire under the dark blanket of stars, I glanced at Kian beside me. His blue skin glowed in the flickering light, making him seem almost ethereal. I still wasn’t used to seeing such an alien face, with its high cheekbones and iridescent blue skin. But his gaze held a warmth that drew me in despite our differences.

“What is your home planet like?” he asked, his deep voice a soothing rumble. “You’ve told me about it before, but I want to know more. It sounds so different than Surlon.”

I smiled wistfully. “Earth is beautiful. Lush green forests, towering snow-capped mountains, sparkling oceans as far as the eye can see. I grew up in a coastal town, where I could walk to the beach and feel the sand between my toes. The sun would beat down, so warm and bright.”

“Do you miss it?”

I nodded. “I miss it sometimes. Going for a swim, boating on the lake near my childhood home. The sound of the waves crashing on shore always soothed me.”

“Yet you chose to travel far from this ocean planet, into the stars,” Kian said.

“I wanted adventure. New sights, new people and cultures. My home will always be there, but space called to me.” I gazed up at the glittering stars. “Earth has its beauty, but so does Surlon. I find the desert mesmerizing, with its red rock spires and sunsets painting the sky vivid pinks and oranges. The mountains in the distance look like a serene oasis.”

Kian gave a hint of a smile. “I am glad you can appreciate the vistas of my world. But surely you miss the green forests and waters of your own.”

“Of course. But both planets have their charms.” I leaned back, hands brushing the dirt. “On Earth, we have grass and trees that stay green year-round. Flowers in vivid colors blooming everywhere. I hope you can see it someday.”

“As do I.” Kian shifted closer. “Tell me more of your home. Of these flowers and oceans. I wish to understand what shaped you.”

I talked for a while, describing everything from snowy winters to bustling cities with towering skyscrapers. Kian listened intently, azure eyes alight with interest.

“Your world sounds wondrous, yet...lonely,” he said at last. “So many people, yet each in their own small domain.”

“It can be,” I admitted. “But we have close friends, lovers. My family is very close.”

Kian nodded slowly. “The Surlon way is different. We live as one people, sharing all. You have been welcomed into our village, given food and shelter. This is our way.”

“And I’m grateful for your generosity,” I said. “We help strangers on Earth too, but you’ve truly made me feel like one of your own.”

“How could we not?” Kian murmured. “You have proven yourself worthy of our trust.”

My cheeks warmed at the unexpected praise. We sat in comfortable silence for a while, listening to the crackling fire. I found myself acutely aware of Kian’s presence beside me, his thigh just inches from my own. When had this stoic sheriff come to affect me so?

“You should rest,” Kian said at last, his expression unreadable. “I will walk you back.”

He took my hand, helping me to my feet. A jolt passed between us at the contact. His fingers were rough and warm against my skin. Slowly, he released my hand, but the charged moment lingered.

“Kian...” I began, pulse quickening.

“We should go.” His voice was tight.

I leaned in close, breathing in his earthy scent. “Come to my room tonight.” My voice was barely a whisper.

Kian’s eyes widened. He glanced around to ensure no one overheard before giving a quick nod. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

Kian and I slipped away, taking hidden paths through the village under cover of night. My heart raced as we hurried to Alya’s house.

Kian fumbled with the door in the darkness, his hands shaking. Finally, the door creaked open. We stepped inside where moonlight filtered through the windows, the air thick with tension and desire.

I led Kian to my room, our steps quick and purposeful. Once inside, Kian pulled me into his arms. His ridged cock pressed against me as we kissed hungrily.

“Are you sure?” he whispered, gazing into my eyes.
