He turns to me and steps right into my space. “Scarlet Waring, I think that since we are in love, and you are my alpha, you should become a Pack Knight alpha and stay for fucking ever.”

“I…”

He frowns, and his eyes flicker across my face. He sighs. “You saved me. You saved me. You saved Jet. You saved Gold, Acton, and Taylor. We’re here because of you, but more importantly, we’re here for you.”

I whimper.

He presses up close to me and frowns down at my body, but then his attention shifts back to my face.

“I claimed you as mine.”

How can I resist this omega? I open the bond and feel him so clearly. He is set. He’s not leaving without me. He loves me.

“And you’re my omega.” I say just as loud as he did.

“I’ll be back,” he whispers and kisses my cheek.

He steps back, disappearing into the crowd. I turn around. I can feel their eyes on me, I can feel them around me, hunting, circling. Brushing touches of glancing fingers over my shoulders, arms, back.

My heart picks up, and I smile to myself. I lift my head and smooth my hands down the blood red dress I’m wearing.

How appropriate.

Before I can move, warmth envelops me from behind. I lean back into his hard chest as the growl vibrates up my back.

“I’m done waiting.” Gold picks me up in his arms. “You're going to fight me, Red?”

I snarl. “Always.”

Gold grins at me. “Let's go.”

As he steps off the dance floor, Pack Knight, like the wolves they are, fall into step with us. The business men with their suits and their money, and the pretty women with jewels in their hair, fall back, sensing the threat, the danger.

But we move past them like they don’t exist.

Missy, Seb, Darion, and Lukas watch, tense and on edge. I can see the promise in their eyes, one word from me and they will take Pack Knight down, but Missy holds Sebastian back with one hand on his chest. Hazel clutches her hands together, tears streaking her makeup. Grayson, Silas, and Falcon stand beside her looking like they’d pay anyone any amount of money to take over. I don’t know them well, but Taylor nods to Falcon, and Jet tilts his chin at Silas.

They are my friends. The rest of the people here fade away. I have friends, and I glance at the guys walking around me, possibly a pack.

Barren is standing beside a car with the door open. He grins at me as we approach.

I’m led to a car, but Gold doesn’t release me. He just slides in with me on his lap. In seconds, the entire car is lit up with the combined scents of the pack. I inhale and turn, only to freeze when Bar reaches up and tugs the pin holding my hair up, allowing the black locks to cascade down.

I watch him as he shudders and holds himself back, sitting back in his seat with his hands clenched.

“Where are we going?”

Jet glances at me and smiles. “Home.”

My stomach flutters, but I don’t dare get my hopes up.

We stop as a large gate slides open and then drive into an enormous property. When the car stops, Gold releases me, and I scramble away from him, only to be snatched up by Acton.

“Never letting you go,” he whispers and kisses my neck.

I’m melting, but it’s too much. I rip away from him and stand there panting, glaring at all five of them. “We need to talk.”
