Henrik: So, I’ll pick you up in twenty?

Lou: I don’t have skates.

Henrik: Funny that you mention it, but I do, so . . . see you in twenty.

Lou: Why do you have extra skates?

Henrik: I give lessons every weekend—sometimes on weekdays. The resort needs to have the equipment for that.

Lou: Can we do it another day?

Henrik: Scared of the ice? Or still avoiding me?

Lou: I’m not avoiding you.

Henrik: Great. Then it’s settled. I’m taking you skating.

ChapterFifteen

Henrik: You play dirty.

Lou: Moi?

Henrik: You think I believe that Mac and Bishop dropped by your place by accident?

Lou: My sister needed help with the wedding.

Henrik: I didn’t see the issue. She was having second thoughts about the cake . . . That’s something they could’ve discussed among themselves.

Lou: Not really. It was a color scheme emergency. The flowers she wants are not in season during fall. It’s either spend an exorbitant amount of money to bring them in or use what’s available then.

Henrik: I’ll pay for the flowers.

Lou: Don't. It’s money that can be used to help others.

Henrik: I didn’t think about it.

Lou: The plan is to make a sustainable wedding with local resources.

Henrik: So she switched her flowers.

Lou: Yes, and a couple of colors. It’s still going to be beautiful though.

Henrik: You owe me a trip to the lake.

Lou: I wish I could accommodate you, but we have a festival to plan.

Henrik: It can wait.

Lou: Nope. We have only a couple of weeks before the big weekend is upon us.

Henrik: Now we’re calling it a big weekend?

Lou: Yep, and I’m even creating a countdown calendar.

Henrik: Bishop said we’ll have enough volunteers to enjoy the festival together.

Lou: No.
