Henrik: See how you’re avoiding me.

Lou: Why would you want to spend time with me?

Henrik: Because you’re fun and, as I recall, you thought that too. I’m not saying let’s meet at midnight in the kitchen but . . .

Lou: I really liked those meetings.

Henrik: Maybe we can rekindle them again, but we have to start at some point, like . . . skating by the lake, working at the office, or you can come for dinner at my place.

Lou: You cook more than breakfast?

Henrik: See, that’s why you should come by.

Lou: Can I think about it?

Henrik: Of course, but I hope you say yes.

Lou: It’s scary, you know?

Henrik: What’s scary?

Lou: Trusting someone again.

Henrik: But it’s me, Lou-Lou.

Lou: You left.

Henrik: I had to. Back then I thought hockey was the most important thing.

Lou: You stopped being my friend, but not Paul’s.

Henrik: Sorry for being an idiot. Let me earn your trust again.

Lou: What if I get hurt?

Henrik: I wouldn’t hurt you, Lou-Lou. And that’s another reason why I just left. I had no idea how I was going to be able to handle my plans and our . . . friendship.

Henrik: Is that why you’re avoiding me? It’s not the ice but me that you’re scared of, isn’t it?

Lou: In part. I made a mistake once. Fell in love and lived under someone else’s shadow. I don’t want to repeat the same mistake. I want Tilly to know that her mom is a successful woman without being attached to anyone. And for Archie to learn to respect women.

Lou: Look at Mom. She’s been under Dad’s shadow, but if there’s something we all know it’s that he adores my mother. And maybe someday when I’m somebody I’ll try to have both. A career and a man who adores me.

Henrik: Can I be your friend while you find yourself and kick ass?

Lou: Maybe. But don’t you have any regrets?

Henrik: Probably one. But I might have the chance to correct it.

Lou: I hope you do and maybe we can be friends and support each other while we reinvent ourselves.

Henrik: I’d like that. What if we start with something small, like working at the office together?

Lou: That’s doable.

Henrik: By the way, Paul said you were interested in the cabin next door. I can take you to look at it whenever.

Lou: I am, but what if it’s too expensive? Is the owner even leasing it?
