“What I did earlier…”

“Was what he deserved. It's a shame Henry isn't getting worse than he is. I doubt they'll keep him long. Probably send him back to the monster world and ban him from base like they did you.”

“Don't worry. Henry is nothing like me. He won't survive out there. I doubt he was the one who picked those flowers. He's the type of person who has others do his dirty work. The monster who helped probably didn't realize what they were doing was wrong either. Many don't.”

“Yeah he's definitely nothing like you. I'm not sure anyone is.”

“Is that a good thing?” My bottom lip trembled.

“The best thing.”

Twenty-Two

Nova

Three weeks later

Franky sets a plate full of bacon and eggs in front of me. I had them for the first time the other day and as delicious as they were, they weren't pancakes with syrup. Then I got a brilliant idea and went to the cabinet to grab the bottle of dark, sticky liquid. Franky turned up his nose as I soaked my breakfast in syrup.

“Really? You remind me of those people who like the McGriddle.”

“What's that?” I blinked up at him.

“I'll pick you up one tomorrow.” He sat in the chair beside me, resting a hand on my thigh. I didn't leave the house with him much. It was too risky during the day and some places atnight too. I was finally welcomed back on base. But why make the dangerous, awful trips there when I can get to him quicker through his closet. We can travel between each other's worlds in a matter of minutes without having to ever step outside.

I won't stop applying for a Visa but I also refused to wait around to live the life I'd always dreamed of. Maybe I wouldn't meet Franky's co-workers, attend a party with him or enjoy a picnic out in broad daylight in the park. But I got to eat breakfast with him, steal the hot water in his showers, wake him up to blow jobs and go to bed with my cock still buried inside him. I had everything I needed. Franky brought me the best parts of the human world and didn't require anything in return.

I gave him all of me anyway, and to him it was enough. He didn't think one of my arms looked weird, my nose was too big for my face and my legs bent too inward. He never asked me to change my appearance and didn't see me as something to fix. He only wanted to keep me whole and he did exactly that.

“Still want to go on our picnic today?” He said, interrupting my thoughts.

“Yes but make sure you wear lots of bug spray.”

“Will it work out there?”

I shrugged. “If it tastes as horrible as it smells, then possibly.”

His laughter tickled my neck as he nudged his nose against my ear. “I guess we can always try it.”

A knock came to the door and Edgar rushed inside as soon as Franky opened it. I was glad I at least had my nightgown on.

“What's for breakfast?” A chair scraped against the floor as he pulled it out.

“We are having eggs and bacon. Whatever you're having is waiting for you at your house,” Franky said, with the corner of his eyes wrinkling with humor.

“Pshh. If you didn't plan on having me over then why did you make breakfast for three?” Wearing a smirk, he grabbed theplate with the remaining bacon and added some eggs on the side.

“Why do I bother trying to argue with you?” Franky collected mine and his empty dishes. They clattered in the sink as he turned the faucet on.

“Beats me.” Edgar chomped on some bacon, searching around the kitchen. “Y'all don't fuck in here, do y'all?”

“If I answered yes, would you stop randomly coming over to steal our food?”

He paused and then shook his head. “Probably not.”

“Then no,” Franky answered dryly.

“We totally do,” I whispered behind my hand when Franky wasn't paying attention.
