“Of course I am,” she said looking at his phone. “Now delete that from the list. I don’t want those kind of things ever seen if someone had access.”

He frowned and wasn’t sure what she meant by that. “Access to your computer?”

“Things can get hacked,” she said. “I try to keep anything sexual in nature out of writing. Just being cautious in this cancel culture world.”

“Seems smart enough,” he said. “Considering my occupation, guess I should be the same way.”

He deleted what he’d typed and put his phone away.

She picked up her little floral clutch purse. “Are we ready to go now?”

“We are,” he said.

He grabbed her overnight bag to put in his car so she could stay at his place tonight, then she set her alarm and left. He didn’t find it odd she had an alarm considering her artwork and its value.

They got to his car, he put her bag in the back and then they drove to the casino where the wedding was taking place.

Alex and Jennie could have married at either Atlantic Rise that Penelope owned, or the casino, owned by his cousin Eli, where Jennie’s brother, Griffin, worked.

He wasn’t surprised they chose the casino. It seemed more in line with their style. He was also willing to bet Griffin was carrying the cost of everything and what better way than to make sure he controlled what was happening.

Griffin was Eli’s best friend but he also did all the security for the entire Bond family. They knew they could call him for anything.

When Ava had her identity stolen years ago, Griffin was the one who’d solved it and got his sister’s life back. That was how his sister had met Seth, the president of the bank where she’d been denied her loan.

Guess the island did work in mysterious ways.

Griffin also looked into Delaney’s ex when he showed up on the island out of the blue.

Yeah, the guy was there for everyone and now he was going to walk his sister down the aisle since Jennie and Griffin’s parents weren’t alive.

Carson didn’t know the whole story there and never asked much. It wasn’t his business.

They got to the casino, he parked in the parking garage and they took the elevator to the main lobby, then made their way to the reception hall. It’d been set up with chairs on each side and a wide aisle down the center. Wider than normal and he wondered if Jennie had some massive princess gown.

“Do we just sit anywhere?” Laine asked.

At least half the seats were taken. Since Griffin and Jennie didn’t have any family but each other, the wedding was made up of the Bond family, some of Jennie’s coworkers—but she worked for Bond Construction—and firefighters that worked with Alex.

“Let’s go sit by Hudson and Delaney,” he said.

“Because we know you can’t be far from your twin,” she said, nudging him.

They took their seats and his parents and Ava and Seth joined them. It wasn’t even ten minutes later that everyone was seated and the music started.

Laine had waved to Avery, but that was it. No one else had come over to talk to them yet, but he was sure that wouldhappen while they waited for the room to be turned over for the reception. Already there was an elegance to the room he’d never seen before with tons of fall-inspired flowers everywhere.

Jarrett was at the front with Alex, Mac walked his mother down, kissed her on the cheek and took his place next to Alex as the best man.

The music changed and Sidney came down next, then Penelope. He heard a lot of laughter and turned to see what was going on.

There was a mini white Mercedes convertible. Griffin and Penelope’s daughter, Zandra, who was just under two, was in the driver’s seat in a white dress, Mac’s son, Jace, was in the passenger seat in a tux. He might have just started to walk at a little over a year, but it was more likely this would keep them from wandering around.

Griffin had a remote in his hand at the back as he drove them down to the sound of the kids’ giggles. What a nice touch and so Griffin.

Alex was grinning and then the car stopped, Mac grabbed his son and put him next to Jarrett and then Zandra was picked up by Penelope and placed next to Sidney.

The car turned and was moved out of the way driverless and the music changed one more time. Jennie appeared in a princess gown like he figured and put her arm through her big brother’s.
