“Six…”

I gaze in horror at my arms, now sprouting thick black hair over my scales, a grotesque amalgamation of nature. My hands tremble as the transformation rages on, reshaping me into a monstrous parody of myself.

“Five…”

My teeth ache with a building pressure, unbearable and relentless. Shaking, I reach up and touch them, only to find sharp, elongated fangs replacing my once blunt teeth. This transformation is monstrous, a terror beyond comprehension.

“Four…”

My vision blurs, then refocuses in a manner entirely foreign to me. The world around me distorts, colors and shapes twisting into something alien. Disorientation grips me as I lose touch with who I am, becoming unrecognizable.

“Three…”

A primal howl wells up within me, a sound born of pain, confusion, and fear. It’s uncontrollable, erupting from deep within, a vocalization of my anguish and bewilderment.

“Two…”

I throw my head back, my howl joining the cacophony ofthe other creatures’ cries. The pod feels like a tomb, sealing me as the transformation consumes me.

“One…”

The voice fades to a mere whisper against the storm raging in my mind. I hover on the edge of an abyss, teetering between my past self and this unknown entity I am becoming.

“Launch.”

The word signifies an end, a final note to my former life. The pod jerks violently, throwing me against the glass. Disoriented, I struggle against the loss of my identity, my sense of self rapidly dissolving.

Outside, the infinite expanse of space stretches out, stars glinting coldly, indifferent to my plight. I am hurled away from the ship, cast into the unknown, transformed and alien in every sense.

As the ship dwindles into the distance, a profound sense of loss engulfs me. I have left behind everything familiar, everything that defined me.

Now, adrift in the cosmos, I face an uncertain future in a body and mind that are no longer my own, a stranger even to myself.

The pod hurtles through the cosmic expanse, and I’m a captive within its relentless grip. Below, a planet looms, a breathtaking canvas of swirling colors and textures that mesmerize and terrify in equal measure.

The pod shudders violently, its screech piercing the silence of space, a relentless reminder of my dire predicament.

Fear cloaks me, tangible and suffocating. It’s not just the dread of an impending crash or the enigma of my fate on this alien orb, but also the haunting images of those creatures, their agonized screams echoing in my mind. The surreal, nightmarish quality of it still feeds a sliver of hope that this might be a dreadful dream.

As the pod’s descent sharpens, I press against the glass floor, my eyes glued to the rapidly approaching terrain. My heart races, a frantic symphony in tune with the shrieking descent of my vessel. The ground surges toward me, inevitable and unyielding.

The planet’s surface unfolds beneath me — a mosaic of unknown landscapes, mountains intertwined with oceans, and alien formations that baffle my comprehension.Yet, there’s no luxury of time to ponder these mysteries. Fear grips me tightly, constricting my chest and stealing my breath.

Thoughts of home invade my mind — my family, my friends, the life I knew on Earth, so ordinary and now so coveted. Tears blur my vision, but they’re merely a footnote to my fear.

The pod groans a metallic cry that seems to herald its own demise. I squeeze my eyes shut, fists clenched, bracing for the inevitable.

Memories cascade through my mind — laughter shared with friends, embraces with my parents, snippets of joy and love. They seem distant, belonging to a life cruelly snatched away.

Is this what your life flashing before your eyes looks like?I wonder.

My thoughts spin, disjointed and frantic. Is this the end? Alone, terrified, plummeting onto an alien world?

I spare a thought for the other creatures trapped in their own pods, perhaps sharing this terror, this prelude to annihilation.

The pod’s screech crescendos, the sound unbearable. I sense the structure buckling, fracturing. The glass beneath me splinters, a web of fractures racing across its surface.
