“Well, I mean, fuck,” Titan chuckled. “If you’re going to give up your career for anything, let it be love.” The dude grinned. “I can’t think of a better reason.”

“He’s not wrong,” Sebastian agreed, his hold on my sister tightening.

“Look, I’m the last person to advocate against throwing it all away for love,” Raven said. “However, we all know that you’re not supposed to make permanent decisions while experiencing temporary emotions.” Raven eyed me. “There’s a very real chance that she won’t care that you retired for her. Are you sure that this is your only option?”

“I don’t know what else to do,” I admitted. “I know that apologies don’t mean anything to her, but I can’t just sit around and do nothing. I love her. She’s the first woman that I’ve ever felt like this about, and I don’t care if it seems too soon.”

Raven snorted. “It’s not too soon to know how you feel. You’re a grown man and know the difference between love and lust.”

“Still, even if you do retire, it won’t be until the end of the season,” Titan pointed out. “What if she moves on by then?”

“Plus, there’s also your contract to consider,” Sebastian added. “Dude, you have two more years left on your commitment to the Devils.”

“Yeah, what about that?” Atlas added.

“I might be broke after I pay back the breach of contract, but if I have Sinclair, I won’t care,” I told them truthfully.

“And if you don’t have her?” Nova asked. “Then what?”

“Then I’ll just be broke, but at least I won’t have to worry about a restraining order ruining my career anymore,” I pointed out.

“There’s a silver lining,” Titan quipped.

“Christ, this is so fucked-up,” Raven muttered, running a hand through his hair.

“Tell me about it,” I snorted.

“So, you can’t apologize or else you’ll remind her of her ex-douchebag. You can retire, but there’s no guarantee that she’ll care, and you’ll have a breach of contract that will break you. You can’t keep begging for forgiveness because she’ll file a restraining order against you. However, since you have all of us to bail you out of jail, that’s not a hard limit,” Atlas recapped. “Do I have it right?”

“That about covers it,” I answered, letting out a heavy sigh.

“Okay, so, we do the math, then each pay our share of your contract, so that you can still eat three meals a day,” Sebastian said, making me want to hug the man. “Then we research stalking to see just what you can get away with before Sinclair has grounds to file a restraining order.”

“We still need to get Sinclair to forgive him,” Nova pointed out.

“No, we need to get Sinclair to give him another chance,” Titan corrected. “She already said that forgiveness is a possibility.”

“Okay, so how about you make your announcement, then we’ll deal with the rest later,” Raven suggested. “It’s clear that we’re not going to find a solution for Sinclair just yet. Maybe we all need to think on it for a bit, see if something clever comes to light later.”

“I can’t believe that I fucked up so badly,” I said to no one in particular. “Why didn’t I just let her explain?”

“Because no one is in their right mind when they feel hurt and betrayed,” Raven remarked supportively. “Men don’t handle that shit well.”

“No offense, but you two make a great case for staying single,” Titan huffed, making both me and Raven flip him off.

“What about me and Sebastian?” Nova joked.

Titan threw a wink her way. “You two are the exception.”

I looked at my sister and her husband and knew that I wanted what they had. Even Raven and Esme had something special. Bast and Raven would never have to worry about whether or not their wives would stick by them without the money and fame. Bernard had been correct when he’s said that a loyal woman was all that any man wanted.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do if Sinclair doesn’t give me a second chance,” I said to everyone. “She’s the one.”

“If she’s the one, then we’ll figure it out,” Atlas said, his support never in question.

“Sheisthe one,” I reiterated. “There’s no if, At.”

“Then we’ll figure it out,” he said, his voice full of sympathy.
