“That’s okay,” she murmured. “I like tight and hard.”

He cupped her face and brought her close. Nuzzling his nose against her neck. “You smell like sun and flowers. How did you make me so damn addicted so quickly? It makes me want to wrap my arms around you and breathe you in.”

“Holy moly,” she said, her voice husky. “Stop that. We’re in public, plus we’re supposed to be playing Twenty Questions.”

“Would you rather play Twenty Questions or go back to my place and play Hide the Sausage?”

“Tempting. I do love sausage … but how else are we supposed to get to know each other?”

“Through dates.”

“Isn’t this a date?”

“It is.”

“So, questions.”

He sighed. “Fine. How about I make this easier?”

“What did you have in mind?”

“Preemptive answers.”

“Preemptive? Like naming your favorite color? Or if you like broccoli?”

“Yes, although the two are not mutually connected.”

“Only if you say your favorite color is blue and you like blue broccoli.”

“Is blue broccoli a thing?”

“Not sure,” she replied. “But it should be. Just think, we could solve the crises of children not eating their vegetables if we could make them different colors.”

“We could paint them.”

She tilted her head as if considering his suggestion. “They make edible paint, don’t they?”

“They do,” he answered. “For kids and for adults wanting to play around.”

“Oh.” Her eyes grew wide. “Can we try that? I could paint my nipples and you could eat the paint off.”

“I think I’d rather use whipped cream.”

“That does make more sense. Okay. First question.”

“What? We’re like on the twelfth question.”

She blinked. “Let me count.” Each of her fingers move as she mentally counts. “Yeah. You’re right. Although they were totally crap questions.”

“You never mentioned what type of answer you wanted.”

“Pretty sure I saidto get to know youanswers.”

“My bad. Okay.” He cleared his throat. “Let’s do the common questions. Black. I do like broccoli, but not black broccoli. I’m thirty-five. I have a twin brother named Parker, but we don’t really talk. Our parents are dead. I’ve never been married. I have no children. At my last health checkup, I tested negative for STDs.”

“I am also clean and I have the birth control implant. See? Right here.” She held up her arm, showing the underside and pointing where the small device rested.

“Funny how you went right to that line of dialogue.”
