I poured myself a glass once we were safely in the air and sipped it carefully in the seat next to him in the cockpit.

“How do you like it?” he asked as I looked out over the beautiful blue sky and puffy white clouds.

“It’s gorgeous,” I admitted, grinning.

“You’re gorgeous,” Adam said, looking right at me, and I laughed.

“Keep your eyes on the road.” I paused. “Sky.”

Adam laughed again. He seemed to be in a great mood, and I had to admit, so was I.

Toby had barely wanted to pay for dinners, much less take me on trips. I’d never been pampered in such a way—Adam spoiled me, and I had to admit that I could definitely get used to it.

When we arrived in Los Angeles, there was a car waiting for us on the runway. Adam took me to a local boutique and told me to pick out an outfit.

“An outfit for what?” I asked, shocked.

“For our date, of course. I’m taking you to the best restaurant in LA, and there’s a dress code.”

“Jesus,” I whispered, not believing that this was happening to me. Toby and I mostly ordered in pizza, which I paid for, and watched movies together.

“What’s wrong?” Adam asked, his brow furrowing. “You don’t want to go on a date with me?”

“No, no, it’s not that,” I said quickly. “It’s just that I’ve never been treated like this before.”

Adam scoffed. “Dating my brother, I bet not. Let me guess, you always paid for dates.”

I looked at Adam. “How did you know that?”

“Lucky guess,” he mumbled.

I swallowed hard, not wanting to talk about Toby. Even though I was mostly over him, it was still a sore subject for me.

I looked around at the dresses in the boutique, the price tags were insane.

“Adam, everything in here is over five grand,” I whispered to him, and he chuckled.

“Don’t worry about it,” he said. “It’s all on me. Shoes, too.”

He picked up a pair of black stilettos with red on the bottom.

Were those Louboutin’s?

“Adam, no,” I whispered.

“Yes,” he insisted. “Try them on.”

He’d somehow picked out my perfect size, and I marveled at the fit as I tried them on. Then he convinced me to get a black cocktail dress that had a price tag I didn’t even want to think about. Afterward, he took me to the most amazing seafood restaurant.

We talked and laughed the whole time, and on the ride back in the plane, he kept his hand tight on my upper thigh.

When he finally dropped me off at home, I was falling asleep, I was so tired.

He woke me up gently, kissing my cheek.

“Are we home yet?” I asked blearily, and Adam smiled.

“We’re home, baby,” he said, and his use of the pet name made me shiver with pleasure. “Do I get a good night kiss?”
