“I’ll be fine.”
“I can harangue you too.”
Greyson’s lips twitched into a smile. “Very well.”
Riley smiled, then turned her attention on Andi, giving her a big good-night hug. Then, she tousled her brother’s hair. “You keep this lady safe.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Within a moment, she and Greyson filed out the door.
“Call us if you need anything,” Greyson said over his shoulder before Riley shut the door behind them.
“Those two are quite the mix,” Andi said.
Christian exhaled. “Funniest dynamic, right?”
“Greyson is so reserved and Riley’s...”
“All over the place,” Christian supplied.
“I was going to say vivacious.”
He smiled. “I suppose that works too.”
A half hour of cuddling on the couch later, Christian rolled his head to the side, looking at her eyes blinking in and out of slumber. “I think you better get some sleep.”
“But I’m so comfy,” she murmured, pulling the blanket tight about her.
“It’ll be better if you can lay down in bed.” Not that he wasn’t treasuring holding her in his arms, but sleeping sitting up couldn’t be best for her.
“Just a few more minutes,” she murmured, snuggling deeper into his hold.
“Okay. Then off to bed with you.” He kissed the top of her head and settled back in.

Cyrus’s phone rang.
Casey looked over.
“It’s nobody.” Cyrus clicked it off. He’d have to call Teresa at a more private time.
It rang again.
Casey looked at the phone mounted on the dash. “Nobody is calling again.”
He once again silenced the call.Get the idea. He grunted. How thick-headed could she be?
Finally, after a third try that ended the same, she stopped calling.
He pulled into their new home base, the heist not far away—the pulsing energy that always coursed through him before a hit burned his limbs.
He tapped the wheel as he pulled into the garage. They were on their third commandeered vehicle no one was looking for.
After double-checking the supplies they’d need, Casey moved for the house. “You coming?”
“I’m going to enjoy a smoke.”
