“Left foot back first,” he said. He took a step, and she fumbled.

She released a nervous laugh. “Sorry,” she said. “I told you I wasn’t joking.”

“All good.” He smiled. “Let’s try again. Same thing. Ready, and one step back on the left. Good,” he said. “Two on the right. Good.”

Before she knew it, he was leading her around the dance floor. It took a while for her to stop counting each step and just relax into his lead, but she finally did. Being on the dance floor with Christian, caught up in the words of the Rascal Flatts song, she realized God truly had blessed the broken road she’d been on with restoration and love. She was so grateful.

She glanced over to spot Greyson asking Riley to dance.

Surprise filled Riley’s face, but she said yes.

“Look,” she said, nudging Christian’s hand that way.

“Well, that’s a first. So is him wearing jeans. Looks like Deckard will be mucking out the stalls tonight.”

She frowned.

“Deckard and I bet what Greyson would wear, and I called jeans. You know, it’s the first time I’ve seen him wear them.”

“Really.” She smiled over at Greyson and Riley. Whether the brothers wanted to admit it or not, there was definitely something brewing there.

“You know, you never told us why you call Riley ‘Cool Whip.’”

“It’s a cowboy nickname for someone who is formidable and never gives up on their passion.”

“I like that,” she said while he twirled her.

“Good, because I have one picked out for you.”

She arched a brow. “Oh?”

“Moonflower.”

She liked it, but ... “It’s a cool nickname, but why moonflower?”

“It means amazing fighter, and that’s what you are.”

She smiled up at him. “You really think so?”

He pressed his forehead to hers. “I know so.” He lowered his face so his lips brushed hers. “Know what else I know?”

She shook her head.

“I’m falling in love with you,” he whispered against her lips as “To Make You Feel My Love”by Garth Brooks began to play.

“That’s good,” she murmured back.

“Oh?” His breath tickled her mouth.

“Because I’m falling too.”

He pressed his lips achingly slow to hers.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as he deepened the kiss. Everything else faded away until all she felt was him—his secure arms holding her tight, his skin warm against hers—and she prayed this moment would never end.

At some point, the band really did stop, but they remained, moving to music only they could hear.
